Norm Peterson Posted June 24, 2019 Report Posted June 24, 2019 (edited) Now that this kid is seeing his recruiting blow up (8 offers in 5 hours, including Creighton, Kansas State, Minnesota and Virginia Tech), I thought he probably deserved his own thread. What happened that he's suddenly blowing up? Edited June 24, 2019 by Norm Peterson Quote
Norm Peterson Posted June 24, 2019 Author Report Posted June 24, 2019 He must have lit things up at the Midwest Showcase in KC. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted June 24, 2019 Author Report Posted June 24, 2019 This might explain some of it ... Quote
Norm Peterson Posted June 24, 2019 Author Report Posted June 24, 2019 Ball fake, dribble drive from a 6-9 guy with 3-point range. He runs well. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted June 24, 2019 Author Report Posted June 24, 2019 So, let me get this straight. Max Murrell, now with offers from 4 different P6 programs, plays on the same HS team with 2021 Rivals top 56 Hunter Sallis and 2022 Husker offeree Jasen Green. When was the last time a Nebraska HS had 3 high major D1 prospects on the same basketball team? Quote
Norm Peterson Posted June 24, 2019 Author Report Posted June 24, 2019 I see this 6-9 kid from Millard North go 2-2 on 3-pointers and dribble drive for a dunk and I'm thinking (so sorry for saying this) "What the hell did I ever see in Brady Heiman?" jayschool 1 Quote
Jacob Padilla Posted June 24, 2019 Report Posted June 24, 2019 The offers are coming from the Midwest Showcase. Team Factory plays on the second division of the Under Armour circuit, so he hasn't really been exposed to a lot of high-major coaches for the most part. The UMKC offer was his first and came after he performed well at their elite camp; UMKC fired that coaching staff, however. He received offers from UC-Santa Barbara, UC-Davis, William & Mary and Boston after a strong weekend at the UAA Rise (the second division) in KC back in May. The last 9 offers are all from this weekend including all the high-major ones. He needs to add a lot of weight to his frame but he's a really good athlete and can shoot out to the 3-point line, plus he's a great shot-blocker. He's a really smart kid too. millerhusker 1 Quote
Norm Peterson Posted June 24, 2019 Author Report Posted June 24, 2019 I saw from his twitter page that he was looking at some Ivies (Princeton, etc.) and has a 31 ACT with a 4.2 GPA. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted July 15, 2019 Author Report Posted July 15, 2019 Hard not to offer a dude from just down the street when P5 programs in the backyard are offering. This has Mike Daum written all over it. Quote

Daum’s story is interesting. Even in his freshman year in college he and his coach thought he would go nowhere. That was the point where Daum dedicated himself and built himself for into the player he is today. Quote

He'd have had a lot more low Div. 1 offers. Mike Daum built himself into a baller at the very-late-stages of being a teenager. Quote
