It would be nice but I don't think it's as dire of a need as others. Hammond/Morrow/Jacobson/Horne/McVeigh with some more muscle is a fairly solid front court rotation IMO. Not great, but definitely adequate.

Well there is a Maynard G Krebs look-alike who is showing major improvement. As far as any recruits with NU on the radar, there's not much information out there. With only two seniors next year it might make sense to try the grad transfer route, but that hasn't been real productive in the past.

Actually I was not surprised with those two leaving.  In fact, once we signed Mr. Watson, I would have been surprised that he stayed.

You can expect them to be in the market for a one year transfer. It will hopefully bridge the gap to finally land a long term "center".

That would be my understanding as well.  As soon as the new school has their graduation exercises for the fall semester the following year, the new guy would be eligible.  For us, that's usually around the 19th of December, wherever that Saturday falls.

Yes assuming he didn't graduate in that time. Conner Frankamp is in that boat and will be joining Wichita State here in a couple weeks after transferring mid semester from KU last year.

tarin played 18 mpg as a freshman and walt declared pro after averaging 7 and 4.

 

i'd have guessed fuller or hammond would have left before those 2. both barely played last year.

To me Fuller and Hammond are team players, the other two...maybe not so much.

Walt probably would have transferred if he had his school work together...it's part of why he went to 3 high schools and transferred here in the first place. 3 starts and 18 mpg may or may not have been good enough for Smith...I'm not so sure that watching Benny start over Smith was good enough for his helicopter parents though. In terms of team chemistry these were probably addition by subtraction.
