Hurt-- no it did not. A Q1 loss is never going to hurt. However, it just doesn't help you at all to lose. As someone mentioned, more of a missed opportunity. Numbers wise-- we took a small dent, but no major drop for sure. Beat PSU, Minny and steal one along the way and we'll be dancing. That's the recipe. Beat PSU and Northwestern and you are playing Michigan at home for a chance to lock in your spot.2 points -

We knew it was coming; but it still doesn't prepare you. I loved Greg's passion and presentation. Prayers are extended to the family; and may Sharpie rest in peace.2 points -

I’ve talked to former players who are SUPER High on Rhymes & expect him to fill the Brice Role Next season (to some degree obviously) I can only hope he’s that type of Impact Player. We’ll see…2 points -
A quick update: we were under the impression when the first two lymph nodes tested positive, they then removed two more. We were wrong. They actually removed 20 additional lymph nodes. Got the results back this morning. All 20 came back negative! Thank you all for your prayers! Got a good feeling about tonight's game....2 points

Hey guys, I will come up with another contest this season, but I'm not sure what or when. I wasn't going to say anything, but Mrs. Cip told me she posted this on her Facebook page, so I guess that gives me permission to share. I didn't watch any of the Washington game. Had to get up at 4 am Thursday to take her to Bryan West for a double mastectomy. They took 4 lymph nodes also, finding cancer in the first two. We have to wait a couple weeks for results on the other two. Why am I sharing this? To give people hope. We will win this battle. Just like we will win the MDS battle with Seth. Typically, life expectancy with his battle is 7 years from diagnosis. We just started year 15. When I said we will win this battle, it's not us winning, it is that God wins! So far, He is undefeated. That's why I'm so confident. We are all looking forward to Sunday. Church, a Huskers victory and the Super Bowl! Haven't decided what I'm cooking yet.2 points

Road Teams In League Play
millerhusker reacted to hhcdave for a topic
This has to be the best year in the recent history of the Big Ten for road teams, right? It seems like road teams are like .450 in league play this year. Just shows the “there is no bottom of league” mentality and that most anyone truly is capable. does anyone have any stats to back up my hunch?1 point -

I don't know if I would call a former Pac-12 1st Team All Defense guy an old riding lawn mower sitting on the curb. He used to have double digit block games and many double digit rebounding games. The better analogy is that we had an old push lawn mower that ran great and got the job done, but you had to really work at it. Then one summer our brother-in-law let us use his $3000 zero turn mower for the cost of fuel and repairs, but instead of sitting on it and using it, we decided we'd push it from behind and use a bungie cord lever system to push the zero turn handles down.1 point -

Thanks for the info. That is so sad, Greg fought so hard to see his daughter getting married this month. Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk1 point -
If I remember correctly, most Husker fans were introduced to Greg Sharpe when he called a Husker basketball game for television. It was one of those Phillips 66 Big XII broadcasts. I think he was the radio guy for K-State at the time. I remember being really impressed with his call, and wished we could bring him over to our side, because I didn’t like the guy we had calling Husker games at the time. Rest in peace Greg. You will be missed.1 point

Great team win by the NU women. At least one of the Husker teams last night figured it out how to beat Maryland. GBR1 point -

Not on paper. But it definitely puts more pressure on each game going forward. All you had to do was hold serve at home and you'd be dancing. Now, you likely need a road game. And might need two to feel comfortable if you don't beat Michigan at home. And absolutely cannot lose to Minnesota. The radio and podcast people have been talking as if Penn St and Northwestern are automatic wins and they are wrong. I've been more nervous for this upcoming road stint than the PNW one, by far.1 point -
Maryland (18-6) vs. Nebraska (16-8) Game Thread
Silverbacked1 reacted to AuroranHusker for a topic
Maryland had a better arsenal than NU, and showed it too. The two teams combined had a grand total of 4 points off of the bench. If NU could have found 2-3 more threes from the bench, I think potentially that was a different outcome. That's about all I will say. Nebraska needs to bounce back and prove to have a road warrior mentality this next week. GBR1 point -
The trick with Keisei as he continues to move up in the pros is being able to score more points than the opposing team does targeting him on defense1 point
