  3. The recent post from @k3s3i indicating he hoped Eli Rice would be at least average at 3-point shooting reminded me of an old post of mine from a couple of years ago discussing the difference between competence and proficiency, and lamenting that our current lineup featured too many players who were inept at an essential skill for their position: So, whether you agreed or disagreed with the post back then, the questions I have now are two-fold: 1. Do you look at the current roster and find guys who are inept at an essential skill for their position?; and 2. How do you rate the current roster in terms of skills essential to their position and whether they are inept, marginal, competent, proficient or expert? FWIW, I look at our roster for this upcoming season and, on paper, seems to me, for the first time in the Hoiberg era, we can field a rotation where not a single shooting guard is expected to be inept at 3-point shooting. And at least a few should be somewhere between proficient and expert. That's some progress.

SHARK Retweeted Dustin Bleiweis @Dueycbb Mongolian Mike is such an athletic versatile player he would be a unicorn like addition to Pitt, would start immediately and has NBA potential, seems like Nebraska is recruiting him very hard and he is their number 1 target 11:10 AM · Jun 3, 2023 https://twitter.com/Dueycbb/status/1665028137543950342?s=20

  10. No, that's probably not necessary. I think he just has an issue with me. He's been down-arrowing my posts for about the last two months and I think it goes back to an exchange I had with him about a year ago where one of our fellow longtime board members made kind of joke about our program that seemed to take a back-handed slap at special needs people, and snake falls called the guy a dick. I tried to suggest there might be a more innocent explanation, and snake falls was not mollified and told me to tell my "little joke" to the players and coaches. Well, first of all, it wasn't *my* joke. But, second, instead of backing off and saying "OK, I see what you're saying; still it seemed a little offensive, but OK" he just continued the terse exchange but redirected it at me. And that's when I called him a little bitch. I should not have done that. That was over the line on my part. And, for that, I apologize. This thread took a turn I was not expecting.

Wish I was at Wake right now because I would be right above the Maryland dugout screaming at them bye-bye because after they beat us the outfielder waved at our crowd. also funny that they lose because they couldn’t play defense and they threw the asshat with the bread for the 29th time this year and they throw the ball into center field as the kid steals 2 in the bottom of the 9th to lose Karma is a bitch

Just tackling the culture building part— if there’s one guy on the team who Id trust being away from the team for an extended period and still being able to be a positive in the culture column— it’s Keisei.

I'm charging towards positivity with this move. Why wouldn't you want someone to play with his national team and spread great things about the University of Nebraska? How about Tominaga putting up gawd awful numbers against international players? How about Tominaga getting a chance to spend time with family and friends?

  17. I’d rather have several GOOD Players, which I think we do, rather than 1-2 Stars ️ & a bunch of Bums. Like you said I expect a very different Starting 5 once we hit B1G play & we can see which players mesh after that Non-Con schedule.

  18. Bruce Chubick has to be #1 for me - played against him in high school and still have a personal connection. Others would include Clifford Scales, Ryan Anderson, Shavon Shields, Erick Strickland.

  19. Clifford Scales was my youthful favorite, just had a way he carried himself on the court. As I age, players like Ryan Anderson, Brandon Ubel, Ade, Tai Webster, and Shavon stand out to me, the guys who do everything, who are always working hard and being solid teammates.

  20. His main point was these programs are “Soft” and unprepared for what lies ahead. I know the Big Red won’t Front No Game…
