    CBI?

I don't need to repeat myself, but beyond the future he is working with players right now. Ubel & Talley will not be able to help the team next year but they are here right now and you want a coach that has your back, treats you like a human being and not a commodity, and has loyalty to his players. If this years' players and those two in particular want to keep playing then we should keep playing if given the opportunity.

Kidney's basement. I think he used to pipe in the games a day early if I remember correctly.

    CBI?

As a loyal fan to this program for years and years, I wan't to see more basketball. Just play in the CBI already. I am the one donating money. I am the one driving down to Lincoln twice a week. I am the one repeatedly getting my hopes up and I want more Husker Hoops.

  6. My reaction's pretty tame. Doc gave everything he had for 6 years and I can't disrespect anyone who does that. I wish him the best and I hope he gets another crack and makes the most of it.

  7. The article doesn't mention his height or position, but I found elsewhere that he's a 6-3 guard. http://lacrossetribune.com/sports/basketball/wagner-accepts-preferred-walk-on-offer-at-nebraska/article_14130bfe-8b73-11e2-b60d-001a4bcf887a.html

  12. Dylan Talley's job at PG was totally unexpected and a key reason that the team was comptetive. He is the Team's player of the year in my humble opinion.

  15. When I think about the coaches who Miles has good relationships with, one of them is Lon Kruger. I know the NU/Oklahoma athletic departments have a fondness for one another, too. I really know nothing here. The women can aim higher, I know that. (Not UConn high, understand, but higher. The women should get a very good non-conference game next year.) My stance on Creighton/Nebraska has been the same for several years, and seems even more possible now: Thanskgiving weekend, after the Husker football game on Friday, play a four-team, round-robin deal that ends with Nebraska-Creighton late Sunday afternoon. Invite a Big 12 team and (now) a Mo Valley team. Everybody plays everybody, it's a cheap trip in the years when you're not in Cancun or whatever, and nobody's RPI takes a huge blow. It's not something you can do for 10 years without running out of teams, but for a couple years, in two top-flight arenas, with Nebraskans' hospitality...it's a good deal.

  19. Gallegos is a true baller -- a definition of a hoops junkie. He was playing pick-up games at the rec during a couple day off stretch they had during the latter part of the season. My buddy played with him and could not believe he was there. Just loves the game.

This Romero kid must be some hot stuff! Sounds as if Yori is in the stands tonight watching her in the California Division II state semi-finals taking on Stockton/St Mary's, along with coaches from Oregon St, Utah, Gonzaga and Boston College. Miss Romeo scored 34 points knocking down 4 three pointers Saturday night where Carondelet beat defending champion San Jose Archbishop Mitty 89-69.

    CBI?

After my final game of my playing career, which was football for 12 years, I would have done anything to play one more game. I know that there are three young men that are thinking the same thing. They don't care where or when, just to keep playing. Maybe they can start that winning streak in the Big tournament, maybe not. And I think that Miles understands that. They have bought into what he was selling, and I think he is willing to reward that effort and loyalty.

  22. coaching at a place that can legitimately win games =/= coaching at a big time program. He didn't say that. Another UTEP level program could qualify as that opportunity. I think he just wants to coach at a place that takes basketball seriously, and you could fairly legitimately argue that Nebraska didn't for at least the first half of his time here.

Who would you replace? Shields had a great year but I don't know who you replace on that team. I think Nik Stauskas gets on there before Shields. Easily would be 2nd team if they went that deep. Likely no one Dimes...I am a homer, and I simply believe he was a top five freshman. CWG, I was looking at the numbers of the top freshmen yesterday, and frankly, he wasn't a top five guy. He was probably seventh or eighth on the list. If he had been healthy to start the season, perhaps he would have had an argument, but even then, the pool of freshmen this year was so deep that he just didn't quite meet the standard. Just bad timing this year.

    Tre-deon Hollins

most kids are making the jump earlier to prep schools and starting there from day one or maybe after their sophomore year. Not as many senior year defections as there used to be. The NCAA is trying to stop kids that academically needed that extra year and could use the prep school to get the grades they need while also still being able to play basketball. The NCAA doesnt want to award a player for not getting the grades in 4 years by getting a 5th to still play and not start your clock in the process. I think it puts more on the players to focus more on the student aspect of student-athlete. It also puts everyone on a level playing field going forward. You wont have 20 year old freshmen like Mitch McGary after 5 years of high school like you have now. For kids that need another year to mature, get better, etc they can still go to a JUCO for a one year and transfer if they were qualified out of high school so they still have the chance to grow but now its under your clock.

Full Court Press says that the Huskers are interested in Maryia Moore a 6' guard from Salesian High School in Richmond CA. Last season she averaged 16.1 points per game, 6.9 assists, 3.9 steals and 7.2 rebounds. They have her sitting as the 19th best player in the top 50, 2014 class. Full Court also ranks Gabrielle Ortiz at #20 and Kaylee Paige #48, others players the Huskers are interested in. Full Court Press also shows that Gabrielle Ortiz has added Iowa St and Michigan to her list.

    2014 recruits

I added Kaylee Page from Wamego High School in Kansas to the 2014 list as a possible recruit. She is considered by many down south as the best high school recruit to come out of Kansas in quite a while. It's funny though, Wamego is like 20 miles from Manhattan and she wants nothing to do with K-State. It might be a long shot to get her though. Oklahoma State is in the driver seat in my opinion as her Dad is good friends with an assistant coach at OSU. KU would be her second choice as of now. She visited Stanford last weekend and it sounds like she wasn't too fond of the west coast.

Ivy Brown (2014) 6'0 Forward from Larue County High School. Been hearing reports that the Huskers are interested in Ivy Brown one of the better players coming out of Kentucky next year. Brown averaged 19.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and she shot 70% from the line and 37% from behind the arc last season for Larue County. Some publications have her at 6'2 but most say she's 6 foot. From what I gather she has interest from many schools including Louisville, St. John’s, Western Kentucky, Miama (FL), Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Indiana, Stanford, Xavier among others. http://espn.go.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/125830/ivy-brown

    CBI?

Good point about the possible lack of a home court (I believe they want to start construction immediately after the Boys StateTournament on the volleyball project). The way Creighton is going, we might get a rematch with the Jays in the CBI, and could use Century Link.
