Disheartening really.  I am not saying we are world beaters this year, but my expectations were higher than what reality threw at me.  This loss sort of hits me hard.  Reality bites.

We had our chances. But it's hard to win a game when you start off so poorly. I didn't feel any sense of urgency from our players as well, but that could just stem from our inability and frustration to make some shots.

I do know that Miles needs to have a big offseason as in no key departures....and he needs to find a legitimate big man or we will continue to hover around .500 ball. That's reality...and Miles is getting paid a handsome fee to do the above.

No argument there.  And if he doesn't, we'll be starting all over again with a new coach - whether that's the best thing to do or not.

Gotta be a Purdue fan for the day now. Would much rather go through Rutgers, Wisky, and Maryland than Rutgers, Purdue, and Wisky

Rutgers and Minnesota had their worst teams by far of the modern era. Illinois had multiple season ending injuries and suspensions and had their worst season in 16 years. And that's who we finished ahead of.

My preseason expectations was about 15 wins overall and 6 in conference.  After the MSU win, I thought maybe 9 wins in conference.

I didn't expect that much this year, but I did figure we'd be playing our best ball at the end of the year. Didn't see much I liked today.

Another very disappointing job of having his team ready to play by Miles again today.  Came out flat yet again.

Not so fun fact:  Our lowest offensive output in conference prior to Shields' injury was 65 to Maryland.  After Shields' injury we scored over that one time against Penn State, at home in our only win in that span.
