AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE FRIGGIN MAN SKORTS THAT THEY WEAR IN BASKETBALL....DAMN YOU MICHAEL JORDAN!

I gotta be honest, I'd rather see the "man skorts" they wear now than the John Stockton, "We wear short shorts" of old.

I think some guys go over board with HUGE shorts, but I do think the current longer style is better than the short styles of the 70's and 80's.

What happened to the "throw-backs" we wore last season? The red ones with the vintage block lettering? I WANT one and will pay big $$$ for it. A #40 Andre Smith would be sweet, or maybe a McPipe!

They do plan on having throwbacks for the Michigan St? game where Tyronn Lue is inducted into the HOF

Why is it so trendy to have lettering that isn't visible? If its so faint, why not just leave it off?

This.

Why have the names on the jerseys if they're not visible from four feet away?

Trim the names in white and be done with it.

Otherwise, I think they look pretty cool.

I like the home team in the dark color...what's the point of chanting "Go Big Red" when the team is in white?

Are those kid off your yard yet? ;-) I have to say I agree. Nebraska has a brand already and all the novelty uniforms just scream MERCHANDISING (in Mel Brooks' voice)

No black unis. No one game only unis. Red white and let's leave the other guys black and blue.

Go Big RED.

we have a brand in football, but not basketball.  Recruits think alternate uniforms are cool, so we should go that route more often (in bball, not necessarily football).  IMO

I think this is a myth.  Nobody's proven it to be true.  In reality, I don't think it makes a bit of difference in recruiting.

I consider myself to be a traditionalist, but I think uniforms are a legitimate concern when it comes to recruiting.  Here is an example:

In all actuality you are completely wrong. Players in the NBA are not allowed (per league rules) to have shorts go longer than the bottom of the knee cap. Shorts are not worn longer anymore. It's fading out. Watch the NBA.

I'd rather watch paint dry

The coolest unis we've had in the last decade are the throwbacks we wore last year. Honestly, that should be our full-time uni because it is simple, classic and different than anyone else. Was watching Louisville last week and they are Adidas and they basically have the same uniform as we do. Wisconsin and NU are always very similar. Since we're making a bunch of other changes to our bball program, how about we find a classic, different uniform look that doesn't change every two years to a slightly different crap design. End rant.

Unless you're this guy http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/26283066/31836685

"Coach Scott Drew is a great guy. I love Coach Drew. They were one of the first schools that were recruiting me. But I didn’t like that they were an adidas team, but that’s not to say I wouldn’t go to Kansas because Kansas is a great team. I can look over the adidas thing – I own some adidas stuff. I didn’t like their colors, either. I don’t like green and gold. That’s ugly …. When you got ugly colors like that, you gotta be Nike. …. Baylor has some ugly shoes, too."

It's totally true. Kids like to be out there looking different than everyone else. Doing alternate jerseys gives them that opportunity and they eat that stuff up!

While it's true that the NBA requires the shorts to be no longer than they are, what I said above is not false.  When Jordan entered the league, they were wearing nut-huggers.  He made a reputation by wearing looser shorts than everyone else, and while they still appear tight by todays standards, back then his shorts were considered baggy.  Of course after a few years when everyone wanted to "be like Mike", they followed suit.  And SB1 above is also right in that the fab five were the ones who really took it to the extreme and pretty much got us to where we are now.

Interesting sidenote, when MJ and Nike teamed up to develop the iconic Air Jordans, the first iteration of that shoe design was a black shoe with the red leather on the heel and toe with a red swoosh.  The NBA banned the shoe because it did not contain enough white.  The result was the second shoe becoming the icon, red and white shoe with black swoosh.

Eventually, black shoes and baggy shorts became THE look in basketball.  And for that, we have Jordan (and probably more to the point, Nike) to thank.

Michigan's uniforms are identical to ours as well (adidas), except for being maize and blue, of course.

I cosign the opinion that we should go with the '50 throwbacks as well.

These basketball uniforms are terrible IMO. Maybe they won't look so bad when the players have them on, I don't know.

As for the football Neb/Wiscy uniforms, I actually kind of liked Nebraska's uniform. That was, until I found out that Wisconsin was going to sport the SAME EXACT design. That just makes both of us look like idiots. Thanks Adidas.

I stand by not liking these unis. However, the front looks way better in person than they do in the pictures. I also stand by my comments that I am not a fan at all of both teams (Wiscy/NU) sporting the same exact design as each other for the games. It diminishes the novelty of both uniforms.
