I'm guessing Nebraska. Here's why:

1. Niang is returning, and the Mayor might leave

2. Indiana has a Rivals four star Center coming in and is still recruiting a five star big (and they are stuck with Crean)

3. Nebraska offers opportunity to play and to provide leadership

Unfortunately not the case completely. From what I hear, while it is possible for Max to transfer within the B1G, it is still much more difficult than transferring outside the conference. The B1G included a few stipulations when granting his release. I don't know what they are specifically.

With Yogi coming back, Indiana should be quite good. If he picks IU, it is probably because he wants to go to the NCAA tournament. I agree that it seems unlikely that he goes to Iowa State, unless Hoiberg makes some sort of announcement that he is not interested in any NBA jobs at this time.

The really strange part of that exchange is more the timing of it all, and not entirely the content of the exchange. In a emotionally-charged environment, Crean & IU had just knocked off UM when UM's final shot rimmed out so IU won by a single point to capture the Big Ten regular season championship!  Who thinks, in the moment, to blast the opponent's assistant coach who had been a part of the demise of IU under Crean's predecessor Kelvin Sampson???
