PimpMario Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 Gave the team zero energy. As a whole only cheered a couple times. colhusker 1 Quote
HuskerFever Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 That what it seemed like on BTN. It's almost like the crowd was waiting to get back into it until our team tied the game back up. Gotta be proactive and not reactive. Quote

basketballjones Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 The team, their spacing, and shot selection were pathetic. Quote

Huskerpapa Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 Ughhhhh. I am crushed! But where I was it was pretty loud. We stood about 50% of the time. Didn't help much though...ughhh, I am crushed. Quote

Waylon Van Smack Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 IMO the fans were pulled into the hype, it was talked about for a years that NU was going to blow them out once Dougie and crew graduated. Creighton kept it close, kept the crowd out of it. If NU could have pulled ahead by double digits in the second half the roof would have come off the joint. Self imposed pressure on the fan base. It kind of tightened the teams play. Again imho. Silverbacked1 and colhusker 1 1 Quote
AuroranHusker Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 The fans didn't make the team play tight.... that is simply ridiculous. Nebraska shot poorly, not much discipline on O & didn't seem to get to the line even though Shields was mugged A LOT driving the lane. CU made shots & ran their O w/ discipline. Good game by CU, as much as it pains me to write. colhusker 1 Quote
HuskerFever Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 IMO the fans were pulled into the hype, The fans didn't make the team play tight.... If anything, I think Petteway let his emotions get the best of him in this game. Played with too much emotion and not enough mental toughness. AuroranHusker 1 Quote

Also a friend of might said at half time they were just exhausted from all that has happened in Nebraska Sports this last week. Quote
HB Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 I was there, and thought the crowd was mediocre at best. Not really an excuse that the team struggled. Crowd could have, and should have, been way better. Silverbacked1 1 Quote

I guess I didn't realize how much everyone else thought the crowd wasn't into it as we were standing and yelling quite a bit Quote

I think it has merit. Was hoping they would show the intro or at least a clip of it before the second half to gage it. A ton of the spotlight got stollen by the coaching hire, I'm sure the players noticed the lack of attention during "Creightonhateweek" or whatever they called it. Quote

colhusker Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 I didn't say the team was good. But the crowd was pathetic. They deserve blame to. How is the crowd to blame for the team being lazy on defense and giving up open shot after open shot to a team that can actually shoot (something we need to get a whole lot better at)? How is the crowd to blame for poor shot selection? How is the crowd to blame for Benny not realizing his new shoes are 2 inches longer? You want to point the blame, point it at the coach and the team. Quote

You want to point the blame, point it at the coach and the team. Nobody is saying the crowd made Benny step out of bounds or the team not hit shots. That said, your mindset is exactly why Nebraska will never have a top 10 home court advantage. Look around college basketball and you can see the impact that a good crowd can have on a game. What we saw last night was average at best. I didn't know 15k people could be so emotionless. For those keeping count, I was only told to sit down once, although I could feel the tension building behind me the entire game. People were not happy they couldn't recline back and enjoy the game while finishing their game of farmville on their phone. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
