As much as I want baptise, I think this is the guy we get.

He's a decent enough stop gap for two years while you get a high school center next year and have a grooming year his freshman season with Walters down there.

Wouldn't be a bad thing at all. I'd definitely take this guy. Didn't mean for it to mean like we are reaching for him. Would be similar to the leslee stop gap situation and I'm okay with that.

No I agree. If you think he's good enough to give you 10-15 a game at this level and strike out on your top targets he's worth the offer. Allows a guy like Benson to grow his freshman year and be off the books the next year when you want the training wheels off.

Barrett I feel like is the only legit 2016 guy we have a shot with at the moment of the 3 we have discussed. I asked jerry west yesterday since NW offered if that changed his crystal ball, he said not necessarily. He's very well connected. We need to finish 2015 strong and see what bigs shake out this spring.

You're right silver. Looks like coach miles knew, on to the next one. Brandon is now #1 big on the list.

I am not sure Walters is the next one.  I can see Miles taking Morrow and two (2) bigs, one of which is a JUCO.  Moses is a one year player, and its possible Leslie Smith may not be back (I have heard nothing on a 6th year hardship).  That leaves us with Hammond and  . . . Heck Rivers will be gone as well.  Walters and another big guy would create some depth.

Schnider and the Aussie both have KU offers.  It was the KU offer that made someone on here -- can't think who -- think we didn't have a shot with the Aussie, but KU can't take them both.  Having said that, I think Benson would be my pick, regardless.  From his video, he has great, soft hands.  And he plays big.  I want a commit out of Benson and the sooner the better.

I've asked this before, so now I'll be "that guy who can't keep track of scholarships."

Whatever, how many openings do we have left for 2015? Two?

Now that Nebraska has landed White, Watson, and Jacobson...that means they have 2 more spots to fill (assuming that Smith isn't granted an extra season of eligibility). Morrow will likely commit the weekend of his visit for the Nebraska vs Miami game. That will leave Nebrasks with 1 more open spot (assuming no additional attrition).

And if petteway leaves like expected we will have one more as well, but that won't be known until later...

I'm not sure it's likely Morrow will commit this weekend on his visit but hoping he does.  Keeping my fingers crossed though.

What's your hunch that makes you think otherwise?

He is a very mature kid (much like Andrew White) and think most people automatically assume he will commit here due to his parents went here.  He also has only taken 2 official visits so he might want to see a few other schools before he commits.  Trust me, I want this kid very badly but wouldn't be surprised if he left without committing is all I'm saying.  I don't just assume that it's likely he will commit this weekend but hope I totally wrong.

I think having only 2 visits is because hes made the mature of decision of where he see's himself going forward.  Unlike White in this instance Morrow has had a couple years of recruiting to build relationships.  Yes some schools have come on recently but he has said all along the teams that have been on him from the beginning will always hold more value.  I dont see any of the new schools offering a lot more than the first batch can so it helps to eliminate them easier than say a Duke or Kansas might have been for him.  I think he knows what he wants to do at this point and many a moderator of all the Rivals, 247 etc say from talking with people that its all but known he will choose NU and even the iowa visit was more of a favor to them for the amount of effort they put forward.

Here's the only video I can find. Seems to have done well at the juco 150 combine and that's when offers came in. Looks like he can shoot it at least from the clip they showed though there isn't a lot.

I didn't mean to vote this down. I was just scrolling through this thread on my phone and accidentally hit the arrow. I figure Walters is probably a pretty high priority now that Nebraska has landed Morrow (maybe even Nebraska's #1 target since Baptiste is is committed).
