Barring any sort of significant injury, but I'm sorry, we SHOULD beat all of those teams at home. Other than Creighton and Minnesota, none of those teams are all that good.

A lot would have to go right in my humble opinion. But I had low expectations for this years team. So far, this team has happily been exceeding those low expectations. I hope it can continue...but if we beat Creighton this year, I may have to have somebody come to my seats in order to revive me!!!

I thought even before the season our 1st 5 would be fine (a middle of the pack Big10 team). Its our depth that will be exposed eventually. The conference season will be a grind. Once teams figure out ways to get a couple of our starters in foul trouble, we'll be toast.

Would have loved to see what Miles could have done with last year's roster. I think we'd easily have been an NCAA team. That roster had talent, Doc just had no clue how to coach offense. Miles already has the offense looking light years better than it did at anytime since Nee was here (& at that time it was more about athletes than running anykind of system).

off topic but Benny Parker is going to be a good one. completely impressed with him as a Freshman. Sky's the limit for him.

In addition to people having too low of expectations for this team, they also (naturally) think every other team around them is in a way better position.

Penn State is in a horrible position and is ripe to be beaten twice by us.

Purdue is not a great team and we can get them on our home court.

We're certainly good enough to beat Northwestern at home.

And Iowa.

Odds are good that we'll steal a game somewhere along the way that we shouldn't as well. That would be 6-12. Even if we don't get 1-2 above, that's still 4-5 wins. Better than last year.

I think people look at last year's record (4-14) and say "that team had a lot more talent, so there is no way this team wins more than them." But you have to seriously take into account team chemistry and attitudes. This team has it. Last year's did not at all. Spencer wanted to jack up his stats. McCray never really understood team basketball ever. Diaz walked out. Richardson and Walker busted their butts. But I'd take Talley and Ubel > Richardson and Walker every day. Add in a confident Gallegos and a somewhat healthy Almeida and I seriously believe this team IS better than last year's team. Better coaches, better chemistry, better attitudes and just a better team.

Nyeah. They don't really know/appreciate/understand how bad our roster is. I mean, WE know if he does that he should be COTY. But THEY won't get it. If we go 15-15, people will assume that's what we should have done.

Along those same lines Lee B was on the radio yesterday talking about total wins. He said before the season he said 10 wins, then he saw them practice and thought 8 wins. Now he has seen them playing and things 12-13 wins. Who knows how this year will go. I'm just going to enjoy the season and see if we can "shock" some people along the way. Would love to see us get USC this Monday. 1 game at a time.
