It's the offseason and slow so I decided to play around on the old board looking at some past topics and I decided to browse the time when Terran picked NU.  This isn't to call anyone out or anything as I didn't post in this thread but I was skeptical of the pickup also and I've been wrong on players in the past.  Miles=Magician, I was rough on Tai this past year for his performance but if anyone can get him to break out it will be Miles.

These comments from the linked thread about Terran are, in retrospect, of high-entertainment and pure internet-genius quality:

Not sure this is the kind of player we want to take. I'd rather pass on him.

i think we can do better

Yeah. Less than 50% from the stripe? Less than 40% from the field? I probably would have taken the kid from Northern Iowa, but this kid? I think I'd save the 'ship for the 2014 class (when he'd be eligible.)

And, not to exclude myself from this genius category, here's my brilliant remark:

The biggest disappointment about Terran is that he doesn't appear to be an outside shooter (.462 from the line and .300 for threes--yikes!).

It's good stuff, browsing the old board I've cringed a few times at the dumb things I typed

As sad as it may be, reading that old post was the most fun I had all day. Just goes to show the coaches generally have more insight than we do! Thanks for posting huskerbaseball!!!

Has anyone also changed their views on youtube videos?

No I still think the Link kabadyundi Youtube of him singing surely shows he couldnt play in the B1G.  :P

I think all the videos of Link Kabadyundi show beyond a shadow of a doubt that he might or might not be a terrific basketball player at the upper D1 level, or, alternatively, that he's not very good and would be NCAA D2 caliber at best.  Or somewhere in between.

The videos of him singing just show that he won't be able to make a career out of being a singer.  And, by "singing career," I don't mean sitting with your guitar case open at the corner of 11th and Howard while people chuck coins into it out of sympathy.

I was the first response and I laughed out loud when I looked at it.

I do actually remember searching for him on youtube and finding the punching video.

In my defenses I did say "no comment."

I think one of Petteway's biggest faults so far has been emotion.  He plays with so much and go so hard that he can sometimes boil over and let one play affect the next.  I honestly feel like some of his fouls come from his passion.  I hope that is one of the things he can improve in the offseason.

By the way, I think I should get partial credit for saying I'd take Rayvonte "4 Steps" Rice.  He turned out OK too.

Where do you mention Rice?  All I saw was Petteway and something about a kid from Northern Iowa.  Rice was a Drake transfer.

Not a big deal, just curious if I am missing it.

Unfortunately I could not coax my old computer into letting me view the old board but I am happy to note that it is still out there somewhere in the "cloud" or whatever it is that collects old flotsam from the internet. Now I wonder if anything from the really old board also survives. You know, the one that the now legendary Dave started. Posts from that one would be like finding the Rosetta Stone.
