Iowa losing is good. They've got controversy around the program, that trip to Indiana on Thursday, and a trip to MSU not long after. If we take care of business, we could likely finish in front of Iowa. Minnesota's not likely to catch us. Iowa losing is good for us. It's our best chance to get to 4th place.

Just win boys and we can stop postin in this bubble watch section

But it's so much fun! :) ...

Wednesday 2/26

Notes:

-Miami has a chance to give us an RPI nudge and a win would likely bump them into the RPI Top 100.

-A George Mason upset over Richmond seems like a long-shot on paper, but the Patriots have played pretty well in February, beating UMASS and forcing overtime with St. Louis...twice.

-Pitt is safe for now, but a loss to RPI 181 BC would be a decent-sized setback.

-Arizona St. and Stanford both look safe for now, but the road doesn't come easy for Stanford with games vs Arizona, Colorado, and Utah looming.

-And last but not least: Take a breath. The last time the Huskers approached the last game in February on a five game winning streak, we won. It was on the road at ISU. The year? 1998...the last year we danced.

That's sort of true, but it comes in to play as virtually all of our remaining games sans NW are top 100 games. 1 is top 50. That is entirely dependent on conference affiliation. So if you are 11-7 or 12-6 in a conference that's top 2 in rpi then your resume is going to look very, very good. Nebraska's biggest hurdle is winning since we didn't give ourselves a fission with 3 bad losses, PSU, Purdue and UAB, hell even just 1 of those could look very large. The PSU one a haunts me.

A couple halftime scores of note: Arizona is up 15 on Cal and Texas up 15 on Baylor.  And George Mason held on to beat Richmond by 9.  All of these things are good things.

Bubble teams Cal ad Baylor both got blown out tonight.  Obviously it would have been nice for us to pick up a road win, but we weren't the only ones to lay an egg.

Thursday 2/27

RPI: 52 Previous RPI: 48

Notes:

-After the Mizzou loss on Tuesday, Arkansas became the next team up for a bid out of the SEC. Jerry Palm has them in his field. A win at Rupp and they might actually have a legitimate claim.

-Southern Miss and VCU are both playing awful teams. Don't expect any fireworks there.

-Georgetown finds themselves in a must-win game on the road at the Bradley Center. Go Marquette.

-Oregon has a few opportunities down the stretch to grab a marquee win. A win in Westwood would likely seal up a bid.

Ohio State loses at Penn State

Iowa about to lose at Indiana

Just goes to show that everyone loses in this conference. To write us off after last night is way too premature.

If we go 3-0 to get to 11-7, we will be the 4th seed assuming Iowa can't win at Michigan State.

But winning at Indiana is looking really difficult right about now.

Oregon gave away the game in hilarious fashion at the end of regulation then both teams stumbled through two awful OT periods before Oregon pulled it out.
