Norm Peterson Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 I had a chance to trip Dirk earlier this summer and didn't do it. Just didn't realize it was him. Had I only known ... Dirk is a Class A tool. Remember when Fake Coach Miles sarcastically tweeted about how I can't believe people don't love this guy? Dirk's parents misspelled his name on his birth certificate. That's all I'm saying. hhcmatt, Silverbacked1 and leonidas 2 1 Quote

AuroranHusker Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 Not sure who's attending all these concerts at PBA, but eventually the fervor for major music events will wane. Only Nebrasketball will remain!! I am sure you are joking...since Lincoln is as starved as a concentration camp survivor when it comes to concerts....the management is using a shotgun approach that is designed to reach everyone at least once (make them appreciate that the arena is here)...then once they satisfy the general tastes of the city, they concentrate more on what students want for music....they will present both fine music and broad appeal shows that have not been willing to come to Pershing for years. (It was a dump when I was in school from the late 60's to the mid 70's) This project (including all the still to come buildings) is a home run that makes most others pale in comparison! Jay-Z.... now, we're talkin'! Quote

Norm Peterson Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 Have you ever actually met the guy? Vicariously. Then let's chill on the character attacks. Well, technically, I'm not attacking his character; I'm attacking his personality. And I've seen enough of his writings, tweets, etc., to form an opinion. But if you would like some chillage on the Dirk dissing, consider me chilled. Quote
HF_ Posted September 7, 2013 Report Posted September 7, 2013 Figuratively speaking - if I were to say that he's kind of a douche, would that be considered an attack on his character? Just looking for clarification. Creighton Fan 1 Quote

Silverbacked1 Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 Okay back from watching the game at the PBA. WOOOOOOOW It is beyond anything that I thought it would be. My seats are Waaaaaaaaaaaaay up there, but that is what I asked for. Only negative is that the railing is in my eye line, but that is what that HUGE screen is for. Overall just great. Quote

Silverbacked1 Posted September 8, 2013 Report Posted September 8, 2013 Didn't have one but the choices for concerts will be unreal at least from the beer carts I saw. Also liked the Railyard although didn't go in but looked fun for the youngin'. The Haymarket area when finished should be a very fun place to be no matter your age, Quote

It comes with the job. I don't think anyone has a problem with you disagreeing with what he writes and having a counter argument or opposing view and expressing that. That does come comes with the job and I'm confident he's fine with that. Calling the guy a dick or a douche, IMO, is a character attack, or a personality attack, whatever you want to call it. If you've never actually met the guy and/or interacted with him to base that claim on, then I do think that's out of bounds. Quote

Actually, I remember saying something like: "He is a player you love to hate. Yet, if he is on your team, you love to have." I think that was at least a quasi-defense! Quote

Playing basketball or being a newspaper writer that writes and says things you disagree with isn't grounds for being called some of the names I've seen thrown around on here. And frankly, I haven't seen anything in Craft's game or heard of anything he's done that would warrant those things either. hugh42 1 Quote
