Oversigning? In the SEC? Say it isn't so!!!

Check this out, by way of illustration:

"In May 2009, the SEC passed a rule restricting its football teams to accepting no more than 28 National Letters of Intent each year. This move was widely viewed as a direct response to the University of Mississippi and its head coach, Houston Nutt, having promised 37 scholarships to new recruits for the 2009 season. Thus the rule is now commonly referred to as 'The Houston Nutt Rule.'"

Cameron Forte was that kid who transferred from Texas Tech about the same time as Terran Petteway.  And, whereas Petteway sat out a year and will return to play next year as a sophomore, Forte took the juco route and will enter next season as a junior.

Forte scores a lot of points but doesn't shoot very well from outside.  Think I'd take Sai over him.

I'm surprised we've heard nothing yet! Any chance he is also considering a return to his juco for a second year? If he could improve his performance significantly he may pick up some higher profile offers.

He has reasonable offers from solid conference schools.  He just needs to choose.  I wouldn't think it would make sense for him to hang around at juco for another year.  Jucos are notoriously academic lightweights and he needs to get into a 4-year school.  He's going to graduate from juco almost certainly this spring.  I don't think juco has much to offer him.  Not sure what credits there would be left for him to take in his 3rd year in college.

I think it's just a matter of picking a 4-year school.  He's probably torn by the experience he had on his visit to Nebraska and the late offer from his hometown Arizona State.  One part of him probably wants to come here; another part wants to be in Arizona or at BYU.  Just guessing.  There's a lot to think about.  But I don't think staying another year in juco is an option that a guy in his situation is likely going to consider.

100% true on him needing to go academically.  My JUCO roommate redshirted his freshman year and his third year he had already completed his Associates and was taking a bunch of basket weaving type classes and basically wasted a year of his academic career to play baseball.  Sai being a 4.0gpa guy that wants to be a doctor he wont want to waste his time.

Looks like Arizona State has offered Sai. I assume it's only a matter of time before he's a Sun Devil.

It's been known for at least 2 weeks that AZ st offered him. Not sure why this article changes anything.

This is simply just a negative article by an Omaha sports writer.

I assume Lee means the offer became "committable." Maybe I'm reading too much into it.

There was a post recently on Rivals RCC claiming that Tuamalla had no commitable offer to Arizona State. This seems to change everything. I assume, after this, we will be on the outside looking in. Viva Finland!!!

Lee could just be late to the party and I've misinterpreted his story...
