From reports, I believe there will be around 300-350 seats for students behind the team benches at the PBA and around 600-700 seats behind one of the hoops.

How many students generally attend now?  I'm curious how the new seats will fill up or if it'll look empty on TV.  Hopefully a new arena and better product will increase student attendance.

I like that seating arrangement. That will give us the same student presence that I see at away games at places like Indiana and Michigan State, where the students are all jumping around and making noise behind the benches.

The seating configuration for the Husker student section is set to most closely resemble the Michigan student section "Maize Rage".  With a portion of the section stretching behind the benches, but a larger portion is in the end zone (at Michigan it's more in the corner).

The size of the Nebraska section is small (800-1000) in comparison to other B1G schools

Indiana - Crimson Guard (7,800)

Purdue - Paint Crew (5,100)

Michigan State - Izzone (~4,000)

Iowa - Hawk's Nest (I have sketchy info.  They say there are 4,000 seats in this section, but only a fraction of them are actually used by students)

Michigan - Maize Rage (2,600)

Wisconsin - Grateful Red (2,100)

Ohio State - Buckeye Nuthouse (1,400)

Illinois - Orange Krush (1,250)

Minnesota - The Barnyard (no readily available info)

Northwestern - Wildside (no readily available info)

Penn State - Nittany Nation (no readily available info - reports of as many as 5,700 attending a game)

Rutgers - RAC PAC?  (no readily available info)

Maryland - ??? (~4,000)

Any clue what students tickets will be going for? I think I paid around 42 bucks back when a guy named Iba was the Coach.

$50 if you buy them before a specific date which I think is September 1st. After that it's $55.

Look at how many people are on the court when it gets stormed. It's (sadly) pathetic. We need to work on garnering more students to the games.

Wow I only paid $25 and I graduated in 2006. I'd always get a buddy to sign up and then buy his tickets and have my dad go to most games. After validating the ticket for $6-$7 it was cheaper than season tickets

I don't know if it's going to be brought back for the PBA or not but as of right now there is no more validating student tickets. They took that away before last year. Our tickets are also loaded onto our NCards now, so just to give your ticket to a friend you have to go through a tranfer process online.

Hopefully they work like heck to get a bunch of students down there.   The new arena will surely get some added interest and coach has done his part to get the interest level up.   That is still a bunch of seats to fill though.   I guess since I will likely be "up top", I'm hoping game by game if the student seats are sparse, at the first media break the announcer says "come on down".   Better to get people down there right ?

Can you even go to a season worth of high school basketball games for that much?  Best deal in the state

Different team...same school...but have you been to a women's game?  Look at how they are doing this year.  They have no student section on the floor or anywhere else.  I think that the student support of basketball at the U is pretty pathetic in general. Guess it's slightly better than when I was going to the games back in the early 90's.  You didn't necessarily have to be a student to sit in the student section. for a few years I sat next to a really nice family when I had seats down on the floor.

I would love to have a couple of thousand students at each and every game.  The problem though, is if they do not show up, we would have prime seats sitting empty.  We would need a ton of Kramer's (Sienfeld reference) to fill seats.  That would not be good.

That's why.....Until things get rolling, they need to tell us nose-bleeders or "up highers" ( 49r's reference ) to "COME ON DOWN".

In all seriousness, I wonder what they will do.  I really doubt they will sell all those to the students next year.   Unless some major promoting is going on and the students buy in.   Even if they sell them, what if they aren't consistently showing up until things get more juicy ( conference season ).   If they don't sell them out and there is not much hope of that, I wonder if they would do what they did in late 80's - early 90's --sell those to the general public.   I'd be ALL over that.

If you watch the video tribute to the BOB you will see a scene where the students are running to their seats when the doors open.  I also remember camping out waiting for the doors to open...ahhh, the good old days.

Being on campus, I have heard a lot of talk of people who are wanting to buy season tickets next year for three reasons.1 Tim Miles 2 The new Arena 3 We might be a good team. I have a strong feeling that most of the student tickets will be sold, the thing I would be more worried about is people actually using them and showing up to the games

Yep, the bandwagon is huge and has lots of room.  I am willing to help people jump on.  But stay on it for a year, don't jump at the first loss.

Don't mean you nuhusker7, just the others that you are talking about.

I can't remember, will there acutally be "seats" in the student sections or just a place to stand ?   From the model, it looks like a place to stand only.   Not sure how accurate that is as it also shows students on 3 sides.

That was the old model. Now it's seats and the length of the court behind the benches and behind one hoop.

What's next? Putting seats in the student section at football games?
