Fair. Perhaps I was a bit harsh on Worster. Just can't get over 22% shooting from 3. For a point guard. Insane.

True.  But we knew what we were getting there.  There was no reason to take him and not put shooters or post players around him

You need to re-calibrate your numbers.  $6M was "middle of pack" last year.  Starting in the fall of 2025, $6M puts Minnesota and Nebraska at the bottom of the barrel.  The reason is  because the revenue sharing dollars factor in for the first time this fall.  And ALL the teams get this revenue share.  So if a team had a $6M last year, then it increases to $10M this fall, and so forth.  That is why Nebraska's NIL is increasing from $2.3M to $6M. Most of the increase is NOT because of more 1890 style NIL, it is just adding the revenue share from the athletic department.

$6M was top 25 NIL. Robin said his initial thought that our $2M - $2.5M was middle of the pack but it was slightly under that. Still significantly better than Iowa and Minnesota this past season.

The coaches have their work cut out for them this offseason, but Rienk Mast is a great centerpiece to build around. He's going to be very underpaid by us next year, relative to what his actual value is. Bigs have the highest price tag right now, especially skilled ones. But he's not going anywhere, as it's been said he's with Fred 100%. Only way Mast won't be at Nebraska next year is if Hoiberg's not here.

The Big Ten coaches essentially voted him the second best big in the league last year, behind the two time national POY (Mast was third team, but the first team was four guards and Edey, and second team was five guards). And he did this on one good leg. Could've shut down his season and had knee surgery in December. But chose to play through it because it was pretty clear we had a chance to be a tourney team and he was an important component (suck one, Devries).

Transfer shooters and scorers will like his film breakdown. Selfless, excellent vision, great passer. Allows you to play five out with good pace and space.

Watching the tournament it appears to me we need an athletic big man either at the 4 or 5.  All the teams seem to have at least one.  And, we need guys who can make shots.

It’s our second biggest need

To be fair-- his career average was well below the 30% mark (28ish) so we knew coming in (or should have) that he wasn't going to be a shooter.

Here’s a fun exercise:

2025 Total Roster Budget: $6M

2025 Roster, Current: $2M

2025 Left to Spend: $4M

All-Conf Player: $1.25M-$2M

Starter: $500k-$1.25M

Contributor: $250k-$500k

Project/End of Bench: $0-$250k

Might be crazy, but I would spend $3M of our $4M on 2 players at that all conf level - a PG and a wing who can score.

oh I know. What's the old GIF say..."our expectations for you were low, but holy .... "

One I think could work. He played PG to close the year and was MW player of the week. Very efficient as a handler out of pick and rolls. Can knock down a 3. If he can be a PG full time, it gives plus size across the court. Mast would be the initiator on offense in this situation too.

Without looking at his stats, foul trouble?

Not really, looks like they played 10+ guys a game despite not really playing at a fast pace
