I like Heide. Solid Big Ten three and D role player. Good shooter. Can hit his forehead on the rim.

Was surprised by his rebounding numbers. Would be curious how his shooting numbers would hold up if he had to double his attempts as he fires them up with Sam Hoiberg/Benny Parker like frequency.

He's shot is pretty pure so I'd imagine the efficiency will hold up for the most part. Has a compact, quick release with no wasted lower body movement. 81% free throw shooter, too.

Aside from his shooting ability, what he was for Purdue was basically what Juwan Gary was for Alabama his first two years, in terms of his rebounding, defense, strength, athleticism. Part time starter, full time rotation player on great teams. He's limited creating off the dribble (so was Juwan). I think he's due for a significant jump in production as an upperclassman, wherever he ends up.

Watched WF play this year some.  He really was all they had.  Could he have helped us? Sure but I think he also likes to be the center of it all and with Brice and Juan here he wasn't going to be.

Just my $.02

He's better than Gary.   Not to mention the fact that there was room for all 3.

Worster/Sallis/Williams/Gary/Berke wins a lot more than Worster/Williams/Gary/Berke/Meah

He's a different player.  And he's better.   And they play different positions.  If you had Sallis...Gary isn't sitting.  Other mediocre players like Berke or Meah are.   Gary can play the 4.  Skill and athletiscm can outweigh size.   Our problem is that we didn't and likely won't have much of the first 2.

We recruited him in high school (so did Creighton, Iowa, Wisconsin).

Didn't someone on here say there were rumors of him entering the portal and mutual interest between him and Nebraska a week or two ago?

The comparison to Gary is pretty on the nose honestly, but without the injury history. Super athlete that shot the ball extremely well over the last few weeks of the season.

I’m pretty sure he averaged 5 fouls per game too.  He’d be a nice athletic big to have coming off the bench.

This season it was 6.6 per 40 minutes.  Dominant rebounded and shot blocker for sure, it was night and day for us when he wasn't on the court. We'll see if we gave him an extra long handshake after the game.

No, it’s not a high bar.   But he’s still an improvement.    And we’re probably not gonna get some dynamic big to come in here.  We still need bodies.   If he just plays the Braxton Meah, it makes us a lot better.   And personally, I think he has a lot more upside than Berke as well

I don’t see it, fell out of of izzos rotation basically at the end of the year.  Feels like more of a 5 than a 4 too that doesn’t wow you.  We need a 6’9” guy that runs the floor and can move his feet as the other option at the 4 imo
