I was still holding out hope until around the time they didn’t call the trip on Brice today. It is strange as a Nebraska fan to be playing to STAY in the field of 68 rather than playing to GET in. The last month was weird.

Our schedule wasn’t real challenging early but the real factor is we didn’t improve as a team.  Young players develop but our veterans pretty much stayed the same or regressed.

And that was a drawback in other seasons, early defeats to better teams making it hard for us to build confidence and momentum, but we had every chance to use early success to fuel confidence, figure out rotations and strategies, and learn to hold leads and manage the game. Instead we folded time and time again in close games and allowed droughts to accumulate forcing us to work too hard to get back. 

Hard to feel like there were any TEAM development or bright spots outside of the Creighton win.

Would have liked to see us down the stretch with Berke healthy.  We haven't been the same team since.

Absolutely..I think he could be a breakout player for us next year, but would also have liked to see us have 5-7 players who could have kept the ship afloat when we had one player out with injury.

I disagree about the schedule. Our B1G schedule was front loaded and then we started playing down to our opponents. We went from winning Q1 games the first half of the season to losing Q2/3 games the second half.

Tominaga's presence was missed for sure but this team was really missing a big man that could shoot the three, see the floor and run the offense from the top of the key. I really hope Rienk comes back and is healthy next year.

Yes, Rienk's presence was sorely missed all season. If NU could have had Mast & Tominaga it would have made a tremendous difference this year. Sucks to see it end today the way it did.
