And Tim Miles' San Jose State Spartans up to 136 after dropping a rough loss to Abilene Christian but then drilling Norfolk State by 24. The Abilene loss dropped them from the 140s to 160 even, and then the Norfolk St win bumped them all the way to 136. I'm curious if they got any higher than that last season.

They finished in the 90's last season.

So can anyone tell us what Pomeroy or Torvik or anyone else has us finishing the season now?

Whatever it is, today had to help.

KenPom:

Projected record: 20-11 10-10

Torvik:

Projected Record: 20-11 (11-9)

I posted in the game thread KenPom's prediction and at that time he had it the same as Torvik's prediction so things are still very fluid.  Ken's got us at #45 now and Torvik has us at #34

We've basically swapped spots now with Maryland and leap-frogged OSU to move from 9th to 7th in the KenPom rankings in the Big Ten.  We're inching closer to jumping over Wisconsin too so that's nice.  Big test on Wednesday against Duquesne and if we pass it I think we've got a good shot at moving into the 30's.  Ken has again upgraded our predicted record to 20-11 (10-10).  San José State won big over Norfolk State and have moved up to #136.

We beat Duquesne and CSF, there'll be a LOT of eyes on that Creighton game 7-0 vs 7-0.

That'll be a nationally talked about event should it happen.  This'll be the year we DO NOT want to lay an egg in that CU game.

With the caveat that any game you lay an egg to Creighton is on top of the suck list, this year where the Jays have a Final 4 type team isn't topping the 2014-15 year after we went to the NCAA tourney and they brought in a hot garbage squad that beat us by 10 at home.  That was one big ass egg.

About the time he leapfrogs Minnesota, he's going to have a job back in the Big Ten again.

That's evidently a dream job for Timmy, too. And who knows, maybe Frosty will be back coaching an offense in the B1G football ranks, although that still seems unwieldy. . . would be weird & wild to see that 2nd one in particular. Sheesh.

It isn't really a good thing to be movinh up because they are losing.

True, but moving up past them (or, more to the point holding steady) is better than moving down along with them.  Also, now that Wisco blew out Virginia there is no danger of us catching or leap-frogging them any time soon.  They're up to #21 today.

Somehow, we drifted down to #47 before things get updated tonight.

However, we won and covered. Michigan was 7 spots ahead of us at #40 and they lost to Memphis.

And Oregon St played Baylor a lot closer than they played us, so maybe that'll help us too.

It's possible we'll be #6 in the Big Ten when the night is over.
