I'm excited to watch Bryce in the league. I just wish they had a better team around him to maximize him. Ideally, he'd have a natural PG who gets him the ball in his spots and more reliable shooting so he wouldn't have to carry so much.

His defense and playmaking are also raw at this point, but I see glimpses of good stuff there. Excited to watch him at the next level. If he lands in the right spot, he can take off

I remember when HHC would feature a “Classic” Husker game of the week from time to time. Maybe cue up an old Hoppen video you can find that would give Bryce an idea of what he just accomplished…

Great idea for @hhcdave, who used to do those features. Something positive to think about...

Interesting stat to track.

But more importantly, I'm happy you're able to find something to continue to keep your sanity this season.

Man. If yvan could've ever added a semblance of an offensive game, he'd be such a positive impact guy here.

I'm trying to appreciate just how good of a year this skinny freshman is having on this dysfunctional team while he's still here.

Real opportunity for Bryce to finish 2nd on freshman rebounding list to go along with 1st in scoring. If he had the defensive prowess of Trey, he'd be nearly a complete player.

Defense is a lot to ask of a freshman on a team that doesn't demand it.

Understood. It's that good, sustainable D that appears to be the biggest thing holding back Bryce, as his passing abilities seem to have improved fairly recently.

Looks like CJ can finish 2nd on that list. Bryce, well, it depends on if/when he were to make more 3-balls; he sure has a lot of attempts this season....

They don't track freshmen attempts but I feel safe saying that Joe McCray has the record locked up with 225

Bryce McGowens passed Michael Jacobson for 6th on the FROSH rebounding list on Friday night. Bryce has 148, while MJ had 147 back in 2016. Both Dave Hoppen & Venson Hamilton are next at 161. Then John Turek at 162, with 2nd pl. Aleks Maric at 169.

Meanwhile, fellow FROSH (in eligibility) CJ Wilcher tied Jamel White (in 2006) & The Polish Rifle (in 1991) for 3rd all-time for FROSH three-pointers made at 44. Up next for CJ: Ryan Anderson awaits at 48, which was accomplished in 2007.

Those are the two brightest spots in 2021-22: Bryce, and then CJ's emergence.
