The first major professional sports league to start back up after the coronavirus outbreak is the KBO. Not familiar with the Korean Baseball Organization? If you're a fan of baseball, want to see a faster game than MLB and enjoy crazy batflips, then this is the league for you. I'm just really glad KBO and ESPN could set up this partnership to air 6 games a week. I hope this lasts beyond the COVID outbreak.

I'd imagine the next league to restart would be Bundesliga in Germany.

Even if you're not a fan of either of those leagues, these are positive signs of progress in the sporting world.

I have been enjoying live Horse Racing.  The races Saturday at Oaklawn Park were great.  Bob Baffert won both divisions of the Arkansas Derby.  Plus, enjoy watching races at Fonner Park through May M-W.

We’re at home with our first kiddo, born 4/4/2020, and decided today to pick a KBO team to follow while we parental leave/work from home for the foreseeable future. Settled on the NC Dinos because, awesome mascot, and they hit the most home runs last year and seemed like it would be exciting to watch them. They hit three homers and won today!

I, too, am a Dinos fan. Great opening day win.

On the broadcast this morning I heard the Kia Tigers are the equivalent to the Yankees, I'm going with the Kiwoom Heroes. I have no reason for my pick but that's what I'm going with.

Let’s not give the PBA short shrift, (Pro Bullriding Assc.) they’re up & running too! No one in the stands, but the riders are properly PPE’d even tho they’re on an animal that could fatally gore them.

I'm thinking of setting up a livestream of my doing the New York Times crossword puzzle every morning on the chance that ESPN might pick it up. Wish me luck!

There's been worse things on ESPN The Ocho...

It looks like the Premier Lacrosse League is opening up in the North American sports front as well:

The best part about this is nobody shows up to watch their games anyway* so the social distancing part is already taken care of!

*I know that's not actually true, in some cities they have gotten some pretty decent fan followings and large-ish crowds

The first fan in 2020 to attend a live sporting event

I'm pretty sure I attended the Phoenix Rising FC match against Portland Timbers 2 in person on March 7th, 2020 though.  😉

Looks like the DFL decided to restart, as the government recently allowed, starting May 15 through June 30:

"NCAA president Mark Emmett does not envision schools being ready to begin competing in college football or other fall sports unless students return to campuses around the country."

"All of the commissioners and every president that I've talked to is in clear agreement: If you don't have students on campus, you don't have student-athletes on campus... That doesn't mean [the school] has to be up and running in the full normal model, but you have to treat the health and well-being of the athletes at least as much as the regular students... If a school doesn't reopen, then they're not going to be playing sports. It's really that simple."

"I suspect that people are going to make decisions sometime in June... Maybe by the Fourth of July."

I have yet to see the KBO, Seems it's never on at night. When are the games on TV?

ESPN (ESPN2) is airing 6 games a week. Game times are typically Midnight/3/4:30 am CDT. I think they tend to re-air the game later in the day as well.
