Taking a peek at our scholarship matrix, we definitely have three outgoing players (Keisei, Boogie and Josiah) and have filled two of those openings.  Thus we will have one open position.  I would LOVE it if everyone else comes back.  But..

So right now we have Mast, Gary, Brice, JLaw, CJ, Matar, Lloyd, Ahron, Eli and Blaise plus Sam, Jeffrey, Cale and Henry coming back.  Incoming are Nick, Braden plus one.

The remainder of this season may be epic.  But this off-season may be exciting as well.

I’m sorry for putting this here but I didn’t know where else to ask.  After berke are we done any sort of roster additions for 24?  I can’t remember what if any scholarships we had open or if we were still looking at anybody this late in the season.  Thanks guys!!!

We are likely done; but we do have one remaining scholarship.  We certainly could provide that scholarship to a current walk on (a one year award) or could leverage it on a mid- year transfer player.

This seems to be a good strategy by Fred.  We seemingly have the most depth we've had in years (or ever).  In the current college basketball environment,  a team needs flexibility and our staff appears to be able to move from situation to situation fluidly.

Am I alone in paying less attention to high school recruiting in the current state of college basketball? Seems like freshmen aren't going to play much any more because of transfers, and so few recruits are going to stay more than a year or two. I don't look at the recruits and any more say, "wow, he could really be something in a couple of years."

I'm with you. Outside of the top 75-100 players, guys have to develop. If you want to know next year's new guys, just as well watch mid majors.

One thing that will help is the extra COVID-year players are finally done (minus one-off cases like Rienk's). There'll be a lot less 6th year guys running around, and more minutes for freshmen to take.
