Hopefully this kid is a diamond in the rough.  But it is tough to get excited by the way the 2023 class is shaping up when compared to our previous recruiting classes.

Have we ever been seriously-in on a player from IMG before?

 

And here's a tid-bit floating out there on the internet [so it must be true] about him:  "He is definitely under the radar because he only played 2 years...he hurt his back one year..missed aau...played high school...then covid hit and missed aau a second time...played this year enough to go to the state playoffs. So his exposure was limited."

Yeah, tough to know what we have here as we either caught him just having a good weekend or perhaps caught a guy just starting to reach his potential.

 

Guy might end up turning into an impact freshman thanks to prep school or he might be the next Karrington Davis (spent an injured year playing for Monteverde Academy). 

6'7" and can shoot is our type of lottery ticket though.

So, my take is he doesn't appear to have impressive athleticism. He's got good touch, though, and a very compact, repeatable stroke with range.

 

He's apparently 6'6 or 6'7 depending on which source you go with. Looks like good length. A Hoiberg 4 mayhaps?

Contrast with Ramel Lloyd who appears to be about the same height/length, a little thinner body but springier athlete.

 

I'd really like to see these two guys stick around and develop.

Kid can really play.  Excited for this get.  High IQ, B1G body, and can get buckets.  He looks like he'd fit into this year's squad well.

Watching his film he reminds me a lot of Baylor Schierman.  Long, moderately athletic, nice shooting stroke, good passer, crafty/high BB IQ.  Excited to see this kid here.

he has good size and a nice shot, but i'm not seeing much else from his film. i guess that's why he's not a top 150 recruit.

Give him all of CJ's minutes. CJ is a good kid who continues to play hard, but he is really on the struggle bus right now.

Everybody has their favorite.  I can't for the life of me understand the appeal of Q39 but there are people out there that will fight anyone that doesn't think it's the best.

 

I go back and forth between Jack Stack and Joe's personally.
