This site has the Illini ranked 9th??

Nebraska Cornhuskers

Ranking: 12

Last Week: 14

Move: UP 2

Nebraska had a huge win against Minnesota this week, but that does not negate to losses to St. Johns and UCF. The jury is still out on the Huskers in 2017.

Good call @Bugeaters1  I'm moving mine here.

Big Ten Basketball Power Poll: Midwestern Interstates

I’ve spent a summer driving across the Midwest, and I have opinions about it, damnit.

Nice.

My only drive on I-69 was...unpleasant, and it doesn’t make sense that a highway can just switch from north-south to east-west all willy-nilly. There are RULES, DAMNIT. But anyway, this highway exists in a number of pieces, just as Nebrasketball does at the moment. For all the brief spells of efficiency, you suddenly wind up in Kentucky with no idea where this interstate came from, and you have a lot of questions that are just never going to be answered.

Much like this stretch’s original designation as the NAFTA Superhighway, well... Maybe one day that dream will be realized. I don’t think we can renegotiate Nebrasketball, though.

This guy is a huge Illinois homer. Wow

I'm fine with people being skeptical for now. I certainly am. We'll need more than just one fabulous win over a gaggle of rodents to flip the hype train switch to the "On" position.

But one thing we're not is the worst team in the B1G. At least not today.

I agree.  The best thing is, like you said, I certainly don’t see us as the worst or even second to worst team this year.  Just by using the eye test, if the team we saw Tueaday shows up, that 5th spot isn’t out of reach.  However, the team we saw at SJU ever rears it’s uglt head, the 10-12 spot isn’t out of reach either.  Going to be a fun year because so many teams from top to bottom could win on any given night.

#11 - Nebraska Cornhuskers (+2)

The Huskers had two games last week and showed some encouraging signs, despite only splitting those two matchups. The first was a road win over a talented Minnesota team on Tuesday and the second was a loss to a really solid Creighton team on Saturday. Nebraska now sits at 7-4 overall and 1-1 in Big Ten play.

Nebraska will get another opportunity to score a marquee win this week with Kansas at home on Saturday. The Jayhawks figure to be in the national championship picture, but are reeling after some rough recent play. A win could reshape Nebraska’s season.

Big Ten Basketball Weekend in Review: Things look bad in madison

Meanwhile Michigan State keeps up their dominance, Maryland and Purdue cruise, and the SS Pitino Jr has run aground a few states down the Mississippi. Is there any hope for teams 3-12 in the Big Ten this year?

Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-4, 1-1)

lost @ Creighton Bluejays (75-65) [MNW: does it seem to anyone else like they play this game at Creighton every year?]

Jesse Collins:
Nebrasketball took it to Minnesota for almost an entire game by doubling down on defense, running the offense through Glynn Watson, and hitting threes. They did that same thing - only this time through Isaac Copeland instead of Watson - for the first half against Creighton.

That formula ran out in the second half and this four game stretch of tough games comes to a close next weekend against Kansas. For what it’s worth, Nebraska is not a bad basketblal team. They certainly might not be good, but they’re not really bad.

Probably as good a time to bump this thread as any:

Check out BTP's power rankings for the Big Ten.

#6 - Nebraska Cornhuskers (+1)

The Huskers had a mixed week, as the team went on the road and beat Northwestern on Tuesday and then fell in West Lafayette to Purdue on Saturday. The split pushed Nebraska to 11-6 overall and 2-2 in Big Ten play.

Nebraska still doesn’t look like an elite team, but the Huskers are a team that could take advantage of a down Big Ten. If Nebraska can take care of home court and steal road games like Tuesday’s win over Northwestern, watch out.

This week, Nebraska will face Wisconsin at home on Tuesday and Penn State on the road on Friday. These are the games where the Huskers can separate from the bottom half of the league. Nebraska could easily go 2-0 in these two games.

Power Rankings: Fresh off emphatic upset, Ohio State checks in at No. 3

7. Nebraska (11-6, 2-2). This is a dangerous teams on the verge of being really good. The key is in getting their best offensive lineup on the floor as much as possible with Isaiah Roby, Isaac Copeland, Jesse Palmer Jr. (OOPS), Anton Gill and Glynn Watson Jr. all being able to attack from anywhere on the court. It may be a risk to play a small lineup, but it also may give you the best opportunity against any opponent.

Four points. Could be one voter had us at No. 22, or two voters had us at No. 24. Like that.
