That name goes perfect with Jordy Tshimanga! Almost like they misspelled it :D

Tshisumpa out to Watson... Watson drives, feed to Tshimanga... Tshimanga back to Tshisumpa for the THUNDER DUNK!  Oh My Goodness Husker Fans!

Yep, and hskr4life has already written Kent's PBP for him.  So, now we just have to recruit him.

Does Nebraska even kick the tires on this Whitman one-year PF stint?

How do we feel about our roster and/or our chances with Copeland?  In terms of fit think of Jacobson with post moves that also get you to the FT line. Whitman was playing the 5 at W&M.

That's what I'm curious about... does Nebraska feel like they're "solid" with the injuries healing?

I hope NU does try to get a guy like Jack Whitman. Definitely worth a one-year stint.

Is he looking for a more prominent role than we can likely give him?

I don't necessarily think so. A quote from when he committed to Kansas

Quote

“I mean I’m not guaranteed anything (minutes). I feel they are thin at the 4-5 spot. I can definitely help out,” said Whitman, who averaged 22.1 minutes a game while starting 26 games for the Tribe (17-14).

It seems like a low-risk option as we have two scholarships available for this coming season. Going into the 2018-2019 season we would still have 5 available scholarships for recruiting purposes.

The big question marks is if Whitman would mesh well with the current roster and scheme Nebraska has this year. Jack and Roby are gonna play the 4 more often along with Copeland (whenever he is available) to stretch the floor a bit more. I guess if you want him to help add depth to a "big lineup" that could help especially since Jordy and Duby are known for getting into foul trouble.

I just don't want us to mess with what appears to be a cohesive unit because we added an extra piece.

I would take him if we could get him. We are a body short at the 4/5 spots. Seems like he could play both in a backup role

This, is Copeland is not allowed to play early, this gives us another big who has played some Div 1 ball.  He could simply slide into a back up role once Copeland can play.

I'd say our overall disinterest in filling that 12th scholarship is an indicator of how bullish we are on Copeland being available to play during the fall semester.

Hope you're right.

Or just the opposite. How difficult it is to recruit anyone who wants playing time into a position that is already stocked with a player like Copeland, even if for just the 2nd semester.

Make a mental note to remember Derek Funderburk from Ohio St.

He transferred from Ohio St to a JUCO so he's eligible to go to a B1G school after a year.  He'll have 3 to play since he redshirted last year.

His dad is Lawrence Funderburke who also played for Ohio St and in the NBA for the Kings for 7 years   Nope
