My hot take was that they would win the Big Ten this year. Basically the same team they were last year, minus Mahaney who went to UCONN. He was their only high volume, low efficiency guy. Now they just all share the ball and are more efficient as a team. UCONN paid Mahaney a boat load of money and it only took them 5 games to realize he’s not it for them. It baffles me how some coaching staffs get enamored with that type of inefficient guard (similar to what’s happening with Carlyle at Indiana and Isaacs at Creighton). It’s like they’re watching highlights, but not film. Just not a recipe for winning basketball.

I'm pretty sure that late in the first half we had 10 TO's and SD had 9, with both teams ending up with 12 for the game.

Many coaches have humongous egos. They believe they can fit talented square pegs into their round hole. The thing is, somehow, some way, the elite coaches oftentimes accomplish that feat.

It’s like they lose all sense of their recruiting smarts. They recruit the guys who are highly touted rather than try and fill to their system in the portal. At least that’s how it’s seems sometimes.

Storr at Kansas too, coming off the bench and they paid him how much? Granted they are winning and he’s not being given the chance to take 20 shots a game, so maybe Self figured it out in the off season.
