  1. Without Knuckles and possibly Hames, the volleyball teams chance of making Omaha are slim. But never count a John Cook team out.

  3. Regarding our volleyball season, this post might be considered a sacrilege. But, I admit, the same thought crossed my mind.

  4. A close game we needed to learn from and still win. Great to see Jaz regain her shooting touch. Kendall M. getting better each game. Maybe with the set back on the VB team from injury and illness and more then likely a poorer seed we may see Maggie M. available a bit sooner. We still need that shot blocker. Can't wait.

  6. Not even Fred Hoiberg is this big of a boy scout. If it was up to Fred, Ramel would be playing

    We Rhule!

All due respect to Rapoport, I think I'll wait until tomorrow to see the conditions of the contract released. Doubt he has any sources inside the athletic department, and why would Rhule say anything? I have a feeling Carolina is going to be paying some of this contract. Remember when Bo went home to coach for next to nothing after NU fired him?

  8. I have this feeling that Fred sat him down and went 100% honest with him and said, "If you want to play this year I'd love to have you and there would be a place in the rotation for you. But Ramel, chances are I won't be here next year so you can save your year of eligibility in case you want to transfer."

  10. My thoughts too. At least be good at something. Be big. Murder the glass. Be bullies. Keisei and CJ are very bad defenders. Any of Sam/Juwan/Bando can guard the perimeter better.

  11. Nebraska Cornhuskers (3-3) vs Florida State Seminoles (1-6) ** ESPN Events Invitational Game 3 ** Date: Sunday Nov 27, 2022 Time: 6:30 pm Arena: State Farm Field House, Orlando Broadcast: ESPN News Florida State Info Head Coach: Leonard Hamilton Location: Tallahassee, Fl Conference: ACC Nickname: Seminoles Last time out: Lost to StanfordOpening Line: Nebraska by 2 Famous Alumni: Charlie Ward, Burt Reynolds Other: Nebraska is 1-1 all-time vs Florida St. Won 70-65 Husker in Tallahassee on Dec. 1, 2014, in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge while losing 74-60 in the Orange Bowl Classic on Dec. 31, 2005. Leonard Hamilton is 74 years old. He's also a former NBA coach, having coached the Wizards during the 2000-01 season. Florida St's lineup is KenPom's #2 in average height (#1 Oregon) Player to watch: Cam'Ron Fletcher Florida St's most rounded player leads the team in rebounds and is second is scoring. Shooting 39.4% from three, he's one of the Seminoles' two 3pt threats (UCF transfer Darin Green) KenPom most used lineup PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 4 Caleb Mills 6-5 180 Jr 22 Darin Green 6-5 195 Jr 35 Matthew Cleveland 6-7 200 So 21 Cam'Ron Fletcher 6-7 215 Jr 3 Cameron Corhen 6-10 225 Fr 17.4 Others to watch Green is shooting 44.2% from 3 and 39% for his college career Caleb Mills has been capable of making 3s in the past but hasn't taken or made many this season. The lengthy PG is a ball hawk and is likely another person who will give Sam Griesel fits Matthew Cleveland is a former 5 star recruit who can't shoot and doesn't rebound well. Freshman center Cameron Corhen has a nice shooting touch and can knock down outside shots. Bruising 7'4" center Naheem McLeod is more of a rebounding/rim protector type Jalen Warley is a ball handler/defensive specialist. Can't shoot a lick. UNL Game Notes Probable starters for Nebraska 5 Sam Griesel G 6-7 25 Emmanuel Bandoumel G 6-4 0 C.J. Wilcher G 6-5 4 Juwan Gary F 6-6 13 Derrick Walker F 6-9 Bench 15 Blaise Keita C 6-11 30 Keisei Tominaga G 6-2 32 Wilhelm Breidenbach F 6-10 10 Jamarques Lawrence - G 6-3 12 Denim Dawson - F 6-6 33 Oleg Kojenets F 7-0 12 Sam Hoiberg G 6-0 31 Cale Jacobsen G 6-4 35 Henry Burt F 6-6 24 Jeffrey Grace III G 6-3 Injured 3 Quaran McPherson G 6-3 - Out for the Year The Skinny: Known for pushing pace the entirety of his college coaching career, Fred Hoiberg's 2022-23 Huskers currently clock in at 303rd in pace in part because they struggle to bring the ball up the court. Memphis spent most of the game denying Sam Griesel the ball to the point we had Derrick Walker dribbling it up. Perhaps Nebraska simply needs to embrace their lack of ball handling and let whomever gets the rebound start the ball of the court. It certainly would pick up the pace. This weirdly bad Florida St team with their length is absolutely going to pressure Nebraska. Hoiberg talked about putting in some actions after the Memphis game to help so we'll see what we come up with in a day. Besides pressure and fast breaking off a miss, Florida St relies on the FT line for points. The Huskers have proven they can guard without fouling so we might see a Seminole team really struggle to score in this one. Perhaps the weirdest thing about Florida St is how poorly they rebound. On one hand you might understand that they give up offensive rebounds in order to fast break down the court but on the other hand they're bad on both sides. Remarkable how one of the largest teams in D-1 gets outrebounded by Stetson. Nebraska has a chance to break a fragile FSU team if they can continuously keep possessions alive. It's Nebraska's lack of ball handling vs. Florida St's lack of rebounding in this matchup of struggling P5 schools. Prediction: Nebraska 67 - Florida St 63 View full article

  12. Unfortunately, we’ve let a golden opportunity go to get out of Orlando 2-1. Oklahoma was very beatable. 2nd game was always going to be tough. But 3rd game was always likely to be Sienna or FSU. Now you have an FSU team with nothing to lose against an NU team that can’t seem to find a W. Unfortunately, with the way the schedule sets up. You’re looking at a very real possibility of Nebraska barely eeeking out 10 total wins. We’re going to have to play reallly good basketball just to head into conference play in January 1 game below .500. Fail to beat FSU/BC and there’s a very real possibility we go in our January games at 4-9 and the likelihood of not reaching 10 wins is high. We’re 6 games in and there’s already a very real possibility of not reaching 10 wins. Our next two games are BIG in us being able to reach 10 TOTAL wins. That sucks having to say in year 4.

    Inevitable?

Don't see this team getting 4 conference wins. Hopefully Trev got BOGO with coaching search firm.

    We Rhule!

Not looking forward to the crowd that only shows up on this site to talk about coaching replacement rumors though it should be slightly less contentious as we wouldn't be replacing a winning coach.

  18. Damn those Husker fans for showing up by the thousands to watch a terrible product on the floor. I haven't mentioned this before but I'm going to take the opportunity now and say some things of which I am RELIABLY informed: Matt is a terrible dude. He undermined the coaches. All of them. Even Hoiberg. All of those great recruits he's so proud of for bringing in? He basically sheltered them from consequences for crappy behavior. If your last name was McGowens and you didn't want to show up for conditioning, Matt would fix it for you. If you were one of Matt's guys and the coaches got on you in practice, Matt would take you aside and tell you you didn't have to do what they said. Matt was the cause of rifts among the assistants. Matt tried to get good people fired. Matt is an awful dude and the night-and-day difference you see in effort and team play this year is directly attributable to him not being here anymore.
