  1. Mine would be Juelz Santana- The Second Coming Yes its been used by Nike for a basketball commercial before but the words and character of the song really seems, to me, to fit this team. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHYk301kjI8&feature=kp

  4. To me, the best way to phrase it might be CU has the better all-purpose arena. NU the better basketball arena.

  5. As see it, NU has the better practice facility, CU the better arena. Couldn't disagree more. PBA is much nicer than Century Link; the Railyard area also trumps the area right around Century Link. Other than a couple thousand more really crappy seats, I have no idea how Century Link could be considered the better arena.

  6. It wouldn't surprise me if the statue was right in front of the football stadium with Miles taking a picture of the Tom Osborne statue and posting it on Twitter.

  7. Here's the article: http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/life-in-the-red/nu-hoops-notes-newcomers-impress-petteway/article_813e410c-f0db-11e3-aea3-001a4bcf887a.html I wasn't sure whether this was supposed to be on the basketball thread or the "Fall Sports" thread... this kind of threw me off : "...picks Nebraska to finish second in the Big Ten this season, behind Wisconsin."

  8. So...How do so many HHC members know what songs the bluejays use... when you only need to attend one of their home games every other year?

  9. Competent perimeter threat would be a nice addition to Tai's game, wouldn't it?

  10. I hope it's improved his explosiveness and his quicks. Not that he was slow or unexplosive before, but just adding weight for the sake of adding weight usually just benefits centers and offensive linemen. The other thing is that, along with all the effort he would have obviously had to put in while working out, I hope he's put in that much or more work improving his shot. I know there was a blurb that he and Petteway were doing a lot of shooting, but working on your shot involves more than just doing a bunch of shooting. The old adage was "practice makes perfect." But Jack Nicklaus always said "Practice makes permanent; only perfect practice makes perfect." It's not enough to just go in there and shoot and shoot and shoot if what you're doing only serves to reinforce bad habits.

    No oversea trip...

Didn't locate the box score, but ran across this snipet. Perhaps it is the same information you already have at your disposal. In a game filled with players committed to some of the best basketball schools in the county, assistant coach Aaron Weast, athletic director at Comanche, said Hammond, who is committed to Nebraska, held his own around the rim. When the six-foot 10-inch center fouled out late in the fourth quarter, it was a big blow for the Oklahoma team, which ended up losing 116-112 in overtime. “Texas had two bigs that could leap out of the gym, and we needed Jacob in the last few minutes,” Weast said. “He held his own and did a good job.”

Pretty cool video one of my friends put together using some go pro footage. Best sporting event I've ever been to.

  20. I won't speak for Cager but yes I am serious. I don't want it to come across as a slam on Miles, the guy is relentless and busts his backside. But participation ribbons (which is what being second for a kid is) suck, bet Miles would say the same thing, I not a moral victory kind of guy. I do think at some point this staff will find the one kid that will say yes and the flood gates will open.
