I wonder what compelled robin to tweet this? We basically control the flow of Nebrasketball news with this site. We want news? We just ask questions and answers get tweeted out. We have news and just like magic, BR tweets it out to make it official.1 point -

Questions I have to ask....

Yori worries me slightly. After that Kelsey Griffin run, you'd have thought they'd be getting their foot in the door with top shelf recruits and landing some of them. But this most recent recruiting class, outside of Allie Havers, seems a little less than wowzer. And they've missed on a couple of recent in-state girls including Chatrice White and Bri Craig. I give enormous props to Connie for building the program to where it's risen, but what is the trajectory? That's the way I understand the poll question. What is the trajectory? I voted before Erstad was an option but that wouldn't change my vote. If you look at trajectory, Miles seems to be doing all the right things right now. Who woulda thought, looking at their stats from their freshman years at Florida and Texas Tech, that Pitchford and Petteway would be receiving the kind of glowing praise they've been getting from the sports journalists who have watched them in practice? All the Husker beat writers I've read have Petteway basically as a lock to start. And, universally, I've seen glowing praise of Pitchford's athleticism. I haven't seen anyone describe either one as raw or unskilled. So, Petteway, Pitchford and Biggs have been developing in the background, generally sight-unseen by the average fan, ready to step onto the court this season with a full year of development under Miles under their belts. In this way, Miles has managed to hedge against the loss of the departing seniors from last year. And, in retrospect, it seems pretty brilliant to have been able to identify those guys, get them on campus, get them in Husker uniforms and have them available and ready to step onto the floor this year more ready to hit the ground running than your typical first-year player. Second thing I'd like to point out is that we didn't whiff on big man recruits this spring. I can remember years under Doc where it seemed like that happened. Like going into Ade's senior year. Was that the year we missed out on Colton Iverson and the 7 footer who went to Wichita State and the juco PF who went to Okie State? And probably some others as well. Leslee Smith is going to help us. Now. Whether he starts over Pitchford or starts alongside Pitchford or comes off the bench to sub in for Pitchford, he's a beefy kid who can body up in the paint. Miles needed a big guy in the '13 class and he not only found one but found one who, by all accounts I've seen, is a guy who can help us. Like Quincy Hankins-Cole, except one who can and will play. To use a baseball analogy, Smith is like a clutch single. Miles needed a hit in order to keep the rally alive and he got it. And the final thing relating to trajectory is that the recruits arrived. Too often in the past, the one guy who would have made the class never made it to campus or had some other eligibility issue that derailed things. We didn't slide anyone out the back door to make room for some questionable/doubtful new guy, and the guys we did sign are in town with one slight, final hurdle for the last guy to clear, which, by all indications, shouldn't be a worry. And, again, with respect to those recruits, from what all we've heard, they do better than just pass the eyeball test. Fuller, in particular, has appeared to impress. And I suspect we'll soon be hearing about Webster. So. If the question is about trajectory, my answer is Miles. I like the trajectory of this basketball team right now. I can't remember vibe and energy like this surrounding the hoops team since the summer before Strickland, Woolridge and Boone arrived in town. And that's saying something.1 point -

I love Runzas. Disappoints me to hear they won't be offered for sale at the new PBA. But, then, I rarely ate at games at Devaney anyway. But, when I did, it was usually a Runza.1 point -

The first half of that sentence makes your avatar selection kind of puzzling. Really? The fact that I dig the heck out of their burgers and fries (the chili is pretty tasty, and I used to live on their chicken sandwiches) and they have a tie-in (or at least used to have one) with the basketball team I cheer for based on that team's success (that was poorly worded, I know) means it's puzzling for me to have the Runza logo as an avatar? If I loved Valentino's lasagna but couldn't stand their pizza would that make it puzzling for me to wear a Valentino's shirt? Hmm... Maybe if I had a pic of one of the ovenstuff'd sandwiches I could see your point. Its more that the name of the restaurant just so happens to be synonymous with the name of their famous sandwich and most people would assume if youre talking about Runza that you like the Runza. Most people dont go around touting a steakhouse for their salad which may be their #2 item on the menu when their steak is what they were made famous for and I think thats why hes saying that. Wide body w 7'5 wingspan. Lefty has upside. Conditioning a factor. #BIGSHOTS Miles loves the lefties. This Elbert is a large large man. 7 footer, 320 lbs. Sounds like an Almeida type project to melt some fat though. Lots of top programs on this guy.1 point
