What about last night's game concerned you? Our starters didn't play a lot in the 2nd half and we still won handily. Was it the three point shooting? Off night there, for sure. But not characteristic of what we've seen from this team so far. Possibly tired legs from playing Sunday? Resting the starters for much of the 2nd half last night will probably help with that. Quote
brfrad Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 I think this stretch will be a success if we do a few things well. I think if we do these things well, we will have our share of wins. Play great defense without fouling. For the most part, our defense has been above average. To be the team we want them to be we have to pick it up a notch. Our only game against a team with a pulse, we allowed them to score 87 points and shoot 49%. Cincinnati is shooting 49%, scoring almost 90 per game. Miami is shooting 51.9% and scoring 92 points per game. We have to play games in the 60's or 70's to have success. Continue shooting the 3 well. Outside of the last game, we have been much improved shooting the 3. The level of competition will improve drastically. Teams will not allow White and McVeigh to have open looks from distance. The question is can someone like Shields, Webster, Parker, or Watson pick up the slack? Get to the free throw line and continue making them when you get there. We are shooting 72.8% from the free throw line. The only player struggling is Morrow, who is shooting 40% from the line. Quote
bball23 Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 I see us going 3-3. Would be very pleased with 4-2. I'm hoping we can go 1-1 at least in the tourney, then hoping we upset Miami at home. I see us beating Albeine and Rhode Island. Rhode Island losing Matthews hurts them, so hopefully we can take advantage. Quote
jimmykc Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 Don't think the team is tough enough at this point to hang with Bearcats or Hurricane yet. After watching Jays the other night, beating them at home would be a stretch too. I hope today proves me wrong though. Certainly seem to have been a lot of upsets this year already Quote
basketballjones Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 2-4 with a shot at 3-3.X2 Quote
cozrulz Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 It would be disappointing to only win 2 and I'd question if the team could then make any postseason. Getting one in New York is essential. Quote
hhcmatt Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 I'd suspect the more games Rhode Island plays without E.C. Matthews, the more we'll be favored to win that game Quote
huskerbaseball13 Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 Surprised we are 15 point dogs vs Cinci. That seems like a lot. If we can handle their defensive pressure I think it can go down to the wire. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
49r Posted November 28, 2015 Report Posted November 28, 2015 Tennessee was one of the 50-50 games for me, so now I think 3-3 is more likely with a shot at 4-2. FWIW, RPI Forecast has us as 4 point dogs at home Tuesday. Quote
HuskerFever Posted November 28, 2015 Report Posted November 28, 2015 1-1 with 4 games to go. Those last 2 games looked much different than last year's team. Quote

FWIW, RPI Forecast has us as 4 point dogs at home Tuesday. Has RPI Forecast reconsidered their prediction for Miami after this last few games? Yeah, the predicted spread has gone down some and our odds of winning have increased. They still haven't factored in the Tennessee win for us yet. Quote

bball23 Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 I have us 3-3 now. Losing @CU, winning the other games. That's why I was REALLY hoping we could pull that win off last night to give us a good shot at 4-2. Not that we couldn't go into Omaha and get a win, but it will be very tough. 49r 1 Quote

uneblinstu Posted December 4, 2015 Report Posted December 4, 2015 I think this will be the most evenly matched NU/CU game in years. I think it might be the most competitive, too. We won't have seen an environment like we'll see on Wednesday, though. I'll be curious to see how they handle that. I'm really anxious to see how that game plays out. NU hasn't won a regular season in Omaha vs. Creighton in 20 years. That is almost incomprehensible to me. Half of NU's roster wasn't even alive. Quote
Handy Johnson Posted December 4, 2015 Report Posted December 4, 2015 We enter B1G play 10-3, We AINT losing to the Bluebirds this year. Then it's bring on Northwestern and IU! Quote
