HuskerFever Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 Better news, McVeigh is more McVeighyer. More 'ham' on Hammond, too: Have our expectations of everything gone down so much after last season?? BirdsOnTheBat and Norm Peterson 1 1 Quote

Norm Peterson Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 I can gain three pounds looking at a restaurant menu. I lose more than three pounds from the time I go to bed until I get up the following morning. Three pounds -- that's like 48 ounces. I drink that much pop before I get to work. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Good update...some good news... Wednesday’s opening scrimmage period started with a first team of senior forward Shavon Shields, senior guard Benny Parker, junior guard Tai Webster, junior wing Andrew White and sophomore center Jake Hammond. But lineups were shuffled early and often. Miles said he’s likely to start a different lineup each game in Spain. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/husker-freshmen-getting-acclimated-to-team-before-spain-trip/article_dd8771f4-4157-11e5-a259-979331f6a1cf.html Quote
Norm Peterson Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Ok, so that's ... PG Benny SG Tai SF Andrew PF Shavon Ce Jake OK, that makes some sense. Probably not a tournament team with that starting lineup but we have all the spots on the floor covered with one guy each. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 5 guys on the court together is a good start, Normy. BTW, I'm not particularly concerned that all 5 starting (or contributing) spots are taken by the standard PG, SG, SF, PF & C in the lineup. If this team is able to find some success with 2 PG's & 2 SF's along with a PF then that's great as chemistry coagulates & wins pile up. Whatever works best for this team will all become clear in due time... Quote
Huskerpapa Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 ...and another good article. Norm Peterson Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Soooo Morrow has gained 7 pounds of muscle in his upper body since ankle surgery in June. And Hammond has gained 3 pounds since last year at this time. Ooooookay. Quote

And Hammond has gained 3 pounds since last year at this time. Ooooookay. I was told that Hammond was around 220 all season last year and did not know how to eat to maintain muscle mass. So 233 would be real progress. bobcat402 1 Quote

Gaining strength is all right for now. Quote

Must be pretty bad if he has to miss the trip. Hope he is on the road to improvement Quote
Red Don Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Does not answer your question, but here is a tid-bit from the Omaha article. » Johnny Trueblood, a freshman walk-on from Elkhorn South, won’t make the trip. Trueblood has fallen ill for the third time this summer. Miles said Trueblood is home recuperating. Quote
