(Former KU player and Barstow Coach Billy) Thomas said he had never really thought of a player Horne reminds him of until watching Villanova’s win over North Carolina in the NCAA title game. The man who hit the game-winning 3-pointer — Kris Jenkins — is a 6-6, 240-pound, barrel-chested forward with a sweet shot.

“That’s what Jeriah is like,” his coach said. “Tough kid, strong kid who can surprise people with his soft shooting touch. He can shoot it from anywhere on the floor, and do it off the dribble or catch and shoot.

Kris Jenkins was 6'5", 250# in HS.  Fat boy could really shoot.  Here's his mixtape:

Here's another Kris Jenkins video from HS.  He's got a lot of bounce for a heavy kid who was only 6'5" at the time.

And every Husker player who wants a green light to shoot from outside should watch this kid's form b/c he has the jump shot down.

And every Husker player who wants to receive post-entry passes and thinks they can wheel and score, watch his footwork.  Superb.

I watched him play 3 games in HS.  He was a stud.  That HS team was extremely talented with Jenkins and 4 PG/SG Bryant Crawford whom we tried recruiting.

We've talked about Michael Porter here as he played against Jeriah in the finals. Looks like a big magnet to Washington.

Locals are tossing Kim Anderson under the bus for this.  Not sure why but hey, it's Misery.

Just a point of dialect:  Down there, they don't say "misery;" they say "miseruh."

Actually Norm most say Miseree.  After living here this long, I just adapted it to Misery

In that same vein, Norm, they don't say "Highway 40" they say "Farty Highway".

49r that is a west end of the state thing, from about Warrensburg west.  The rest of us get it correct.

Just left the frigid Royals vs. Braves game.  Did I mention is was cold.  Oh yeah, the point...I sat in front of a nice lady who was/is Jeriah's speech teacher.  She said the Jeriah is a heck of a basketball player, but equally impressive is that he is heck of a person.  She was happy that he is a Husker...so are we!!!
