My son who likes Duke just left the house because of my cussing about how they are going to win this with a lot of help.

You keep a' cussin' Silver.  Someone's gotta learn the boy. ;)

I don't remember dropping that kid on his head when he was young, but something happened along the way. He is a HUGE HUSKER FAN though, so I think it is just a slight in his personality.

Supposedly they choose the best for the final games.  Something has to be done about these clowns.

If these are the best, it's time to revamp officiating.  I thought until the last 8 minutes they had done a decent job, they failed down the stretch

I mean, I didn't really care who won this game.  No dog in the fight and I don't really dislike Duke.  It's just that I want to see some integrity in the game, which begins and ends with the officiating.  And when basically all the calls in the last 10 minutes go the way of the Blue Devils, the statistical probability of that happening without bias in the officiating is close to negligible, which is disappointing.

I didn't really pick a team to start cheering for until it seemed like Wisconsin was getting jobbed on all the calls.

I agree - I thought that the rest of the game the officiating was, while not stellar, at least consistent.

I thought...

-- Player control calls last night were horribly inconsistent...

-- Duke player steps out of bounds in front of a ref who is looking at his feet...no call...until a pass is made and the player gets a    basket and a foul call...by the same ref.

-- Duke player tips the ball out of bounds and yet Duke gets the ball (after the refs review the tape and then states to the TV crew...we saw nothing)

By the way, I am not really banging on the officiating per se.  It is a difficult job and mistakes will be made.  One hopes that the mistakes are limited and do not come at game changing times.  These refs were the best of best and yet...

From the NCAA site:

The NCAA has notified these 10 individuals selected to work the 2015 Final Four, which will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis:

• Pat Adams, Mobile, Ala.;
• Jeff Clark, Cheltenham, Pa.;
• Joe DeRosa, North Canton, Ohio;
• Pat Driscoll, Syracuse, N.Y.;
• Mike Eades, Princeton, W.Va.;
• Verne Harris, Denver, Colo.;
• John Higgins, Omaha, Neb.;
• Bryan Kersey, Carrollton, Va;
• Doug Sirmons, Virginia Beach, Va.; and
• Michael Stephens, Providence, R.I.

“These 10 men represent the best in NCAA men’s basketball officiating, having been evaluated after each game and receiving the best grades,” said Adams. “We look for officials who have great communication skills with coaches and student-athletes, while also getting the most calls accurate while enforcing the written rules of the game.”

Harris will officiate his eighth Final Four, while Higgins will be calling his sixth. This will be the fourth Final Four for Adams, Driscoll and Stephens and third for DeRosa and Sirmons. Eades will be calling his second while Clark and Kersey will be calling their first Final Four.

I also did not particularly care who won although I tend to root for teams in our conference and underdogs so I would have preferred the Badgers. Although they are great players and I wish they were Cornhuskers, am I the only person petty enough to say that both Jones and Allen annoyed me. I don't even know why, they just did.

".....while enforcing the written rules of the game".  Classic.  Hilarious.  Can't stop laughing.   The written rules ship sailed so long ago I'm not sure they can even locate a copy of those rules, or see that ship in the distance.

In my case I think it's success envy!  ;)

It seems officials are being asked to do too much, trying to enforce rules that cannot be applied consistently. It seems that it’s not so much what the official sees as it’s the Anticipated calls and what he Expects to see!

I think Ryan realized what he was saying and immediately tried to make it about fifth-year transfers.

I think he was talking about any player who intends on being at a school for only one year (i.e. one-and-done, which, technically fifth-year transfers are).

He wants to "build from within" and he can't do that if multiple freshmen come in and go pro after one year.

I'd take more stock in his "we don't do rent-a-player here" if more of his players graduated.

Last I heard he was running a 40% clip.
