uneblinstu
Back in February, there was a lot of disgust by a couple of assistant coaches who took jobs just a day or two after signing day and recruits feeling misled and such. I think that's gotta be a fair question here, right? Did McVeigh know this was coming? It seems a little sketchy that he'd leave so quickly after signing day. Wonder if McVeigh feels a little misled with this move.
Silverbacked1
Maybe that is one if the stops that Harriman took while he was in there last month. He could have stopped by the house and talked about his leaving and that it is still a perfect fit for Bruce... a.. Jack.

hhcmatt
Is Deng Gak any good? He's a 6'9"+ class of 2016 kid who also is also at the Aussie basketball academy
Norm Peterson
Is Deng Gak any good? He's a 6'9"+ class of 2016 kid who also is also at the Aussie basketball academy I'm guessing he is. His older brother Gorjok just got an offer from UConn. Older brother came stateside this year and is playing at Victory Rock Prep. http://ausahoops.com/recruiting-update-610-class-of-2016-forward-gorjok-gak-receives-offer-from-uconn/
swoof
The Emus are 0-2 so far in the Under 19 World Championships losing close games to Canada 74-71 and Italy 69-67. It looks like Jack had a pretty solid game against Italy (http://www.fiba.com/world/u19/2015/2806/Australia-Italy) after not doing much against Canada. All the games including live streams can be found here: http://www.fiba.com/el/world/u19/2015/videos. Edit: Work was pretty slow this morning so I watched the Italy game. Interestingly, all of Jack's points came in the paint and he did not even attempt a 3. Australia in general was pretty awful from 3 (3-13) while Italy actually shot better from 3 than from inside the arc while hitting the same number of shots (12-38/12-28). One thing that stood out was that he was able to take his defender off the dribble from both the left and right wings and hit pull-up jumpers in the lane. swoof
The way things are looking Australia should easily beat Tunisia but will still finish 3rd in their group which would put them up against Serbia or Greece (home team) in the next round. Guessing that means they'll move to the losers bracket (Classification Games) for ranking purposes. BTW, Deng Gak did not look impressive at all. 23 minutes in the first two games. I barely noticed him in the Italy game. He's averaged 3-3.5-1 with 1 block in two games. He's also barely turned 17 so there's room for growth for sure. hhcmatt

HF_
I'm thinking he might have some problems guarding the 2 or 3 spot in the Big 10 unless his foot quickness improves.

hhcmatt
I'm thinking he might have some problems guarding the 2 or 3 spot in the Big 10 unless his foot quickness improves. The defense and rebounding doesn't seem to be there. Seems good on offense and decent basketball IQ. Seems like he's a decent passer as well. At this point seems like he's coming off the bench next year.
TheKamdyMan
He has really struggled so far in the tournament. Cant really take too much away from it to gather an opinion one way or the other but he has not looked the same in this tournament that he did a year ago at the adidas nations. hhcmatt
Norm Peterson
What's his number?
Norm Peterson
OK, I figured out he's #12. That's the first thing. In green. That's the 2nd thing. Team Australia plays basketball like it's 1979. That's the 3rd thing. Team Australia sucks ass at passing the ball. That's 4. Tunisia has a very interesting way of getting shooters open. In America, we might call it "zone blocking." That's when we play football. When we play basketball, we call it "illegal." That's 5. Beyond that, I'm not sure what to say. Don't know how much we can learn about Jack McVeigh's ability to contribute next year for the Huskers by watching Australia take on Tunisia in Greece. #FIBAU19WorldChampionshipBasketballsucks
swoof
He did not look good in what little bit I saw of today's game. Fouled out in 13 minutes against a really bad Tunisian team. It will be interesting to see how the Aussies play against Serbia tomorrow. The Serbs are a far better squad than either of the teams Australia lost to in group play.
