FredsSlacks Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 Robin Washut @RobinWashut 3m Interesting: UNLV just added Oregon transfer Ben Carter, leaving them with 0 open scholarships. Jordan Cornish is visiting them next weekend I really like our chances now. I wouldn't really feel welcome going to a school that has no open spots for me. I think we can offer just as much playing time as wake forest, but we are already an established winner in the big 10 and wake is rebuilding. Quote

I just don't want to get too excited about UNLV not having a ship open, because what if they "make" one available by kicking a lesser player to the curb? I'll hope for the best that we get him. Quote

TheKamdyMan Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 They (UNLV) will have plenty of guards, they needed a forward and they got one in Ben Carter. http://runrebs.com/2014/05/05/ben-carter-to-transfer-to-unlv/ This article from today states they are now done with their recruiting class and no mention of Cornish. OurDecay Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 He's got a Big Ten-ready body. He's grown a lot in the last year and is a pretty solid 6-6. He's not overly explosive but I thought he had a smooth jump shot in the limited video I've seen of him. I think he's grown 2 inches in the last year, which is part of why there are multiple height/weights listed for him on services. Quote

He has the tools to be a solid player. I dont see him being a major contributor for a couple seasons. He would be a good 7th-8th man next year. hhcmatt 1 Quote

We can use someone like this, and a 7-8th man is still valuable. I'm becoming more optimistic. The whiff on Deng really hurt, but a Cornish commit would ease some of the pain! Quote
hhcmatt Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 Via a tweet from Cornish Nov 2013 - 6'6 1/4 and 208lbs with a 6'6 wingspan. Physically that makes him about the size of 2012-13 Shavon Shields Quote

lanigan123 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 Biggest thing is Nebraska is landing solid guys to prevent the major swings year in and year out. I hope we start to land a top 50 player every few years but things are looking solid. I think 3 top 150 kids next year isn't out of the question. Hopefully Morrow has a strong summer and gets in the top 100 or so. IMHO he is much petter than Akoy skill wise and strength wise but lacks the height Akoy had. Quote

Those rankings appear to be gone now. Quote
