...and to think that basketball is his third sport behind baseball and football.  He is ubber talented!  I know of a few two sport athletes such as Wilson Thomas, Turner Gill, Matt Davison and so forth, but I do not recall a three sport athlete.  You may have to go back to the 50's and 60's.

Erick Strickland could have played any sport for the Huskers.

Don't forget about Ed Weir from Superior, the first multi-sport Star and All-American at Nebraska. Go Wildcats!

Sat next to Ed Weir's grandson at a Husker football game several years ago & he went on & on about his athletic exploits... IIRC, he thought Ed could have his number retired in more than just football. Pretty cool story for a Nebraskan.

Another multi-sport star who played at Kearney State, and drafted by multiple pro leagues, is Tom Kropp from Aurora. He's a living legend in Nebraska, and has been coaching the Lopers for nearly 25 years.

And, of course, Tom Osborne starred in several sports for Hastings College. He was a pretty fine coach, best to ever coach in the Big8, Big 12 & Big Ten! ;)

I spoke to Ed himself several times, he would always come back to Superior for an annual track meet held in his honor. And yes Tom Kropp was the MAN.

Remind me...When was it TO coached in the Big Ten? ;)

You never know... people fall in the draft for the weirdest reasons sometimes.

He could get hurt in spring baseball and be forced to go to college or sign for like 200k which is 1/5 of what it looks like he'll make right now.

So yeah... he could end up here yet.  I doubt it, but you never know.

He'd have to break a lot of bones to only get an offer of 200k.

i said "get hurt" not "break a bone"...

there's a lot worse injuries out there that would raise question marks.

i hope that doesn't happen, but it's a possibility.  It's probably why boldt is a husker.

Boldt turned down 1 million from Boston.

Is getting a million in the first round different than the 22nd round? Does the money not spend the same? I know that's a snarky response but round means nothing when the money is exactly the same.

He would have made more if he wouldn't have gotten hurt.  Possibly significantly more.  The money spends the same regardless.

The numbers i was looking at was around the 1.5 million mark.

I meant that more as a supllementary comment to your argument.

As in Harrison could break a bone, drop a few rounds, and still be a millionaire. Just like Boldt
