Will Coach Miles...

Will Coach Miles earn a technical foul this year? So far, none. I think he only had one last year, too.

 

Is our main man cool as a cucumber or will he crack one day on some BS officiating?

Miles has a solid mix of sarcasm and realism in his arguments that lead to rational behavior toward the officials. It would take a lot for him to get 't'd up'. Regardless, I want to know what he'd Tweet about if he ever got ejected.

I don't think he will in conference play. He knows the slim margin of error for this team and won't cross the line.

I believe he's said in the past he averaged maybe one a season. So probably don't count on it anymore.

If Miles does end up getting a technical this year I have a strong feeling that it would be completely intentional to get the team (or crowd) going. I personally would be shocked to see miles accidentally go to far with an official and get one.

he said he averages about 1-2 a year, so he's due. but it would have to be pretty dire for him, I think. We're still in a race for postseason play and every game we're playing is close, so it would have to be pretty serious. I honestly expected him to in the PSU game in the 2d half. If he doesn't do it then, he might not this year.

I'm not sure how often a coach plans out a technical.  Will he earn one, perhaps...he has been close, sometimes justice must be served.

It took a lot of restraint to not get one when the block got called at the end of the Michigan game, and then the charge got called down the stretch at Purdue.  The one at Purdue wasn't even bang-bang or a judgment call.  I would have gotten jail time, not just a technical. 

 

I voted yes, just suspecting that some time it will get so bad, and we're either out of it and he figures what the hell, or he really needs to stick up for his guys.

I think the idea of coaches intentionally getting technicals  to fire up the team is overhyped. I'm sure someone at sometime has but the vast, vast, vast majority of T's are unintentional.

He's come close to getting T'd up already and there's lots of game time left in the season.  I voted he gets a T.

 

And, Dean, I've heard Miles joke about times that he's tried to get a T and they didn't T him up and times where he wasn't trying to get one and they did.

 

Personally, I think he has one in him this year whether he tries for it or not.

For him to not have one by now as bad as the conference games have been called is pretty darn good.
