Can I vote both??

Depending on the opposition you could have Biggs start instead of Webster, Gallegos, or Shields at this point.

Thus, a more apt question/poll would be "Should DB be starting" Y/N/M

I didn't see an option for "Whoever the coach tabs to start."

There's a lot that goes on internally that practically no one on here is aware of or involved in to judge whether the head coach is making the right calls on who starts or how many minutes each player gets.

Unless you're on the staff or intimately acquainted with someone who is, then you probably don't know enough to judge.

Someone -- can't recall who -- posted recently that the captains asked Miles to kick Biggs off the team after his film room suspension.  It is quite possible that there's a whole lot more going on than what meets the eye and talent or what a kid can do on the floor might not be the only consideration.

Sure, you can say Biggs looks like the guy who can make the bigger impact right now, but you think you see something Miles just completely misses?  Don't flatter yourselves.  I can tell you this:  There's a lot more going on in this program beyond the 2 hours of game time, of which virtually no one on here is aware.  And what happens behind closed doors in Hendricks probably has as much to do with who starts and who gets minutes than what any of us see publicly.

+1 Norm. Great Post. Not Easy for us to judge when we see 4 hours of the guys each week and coaches see them 4 hours a day.

When I was a kid, maybe junior high, the high school varsity team had some good players on it, but one of them was uber-talented.  And the rumors going around school were that there had been some dust-ups between the head coach and this star player where he thought he knew better than the coach how basketball should be played and he kinda did his own thing on the floor.

The rumor was that, at one point, the butting of heads got so bad that at half-time of one of the games, in front of the whole team, the coach told this kid "I ought to bench you for the rest of the game."  And the kid supposedly responded something like, "Yeah, but you know you won't because you know you can't win without me."

I'm not saying this is going on at Nebraska.  But let me ask this:  If you were the coach of that high school team, what you would do?  Would you bench the kid for the rest of that game (and maybe suspend him as well)?  Because if you did that, all the fans, who didn't know what happened in the locker room at half time, would be complaining that you benched the best player on the team and the only guy who gives us a chance to win, night in and night out.

So, who should start at PG for Nebraska?  Whoever Coach Miles says, that's who.

i didnt see an option for Mike Peltz? #brobasketball deserves a shot...JK, in all seriousness i say we keep going with webster, Biggs just dosnt seem to provide the amount of stability between him and terran, there were some real bad shots yesterday

Did I miss the meeting where we declared Miles to be infallible?

There is a big ole gap between "Everything Miles does is right" and "Miles should be fired"

We could have John Wooden running this team and I think wondering if Deverell should be starting would be question I'd ask every single game.

Never said Miles was infallible but I do believe there is an information gulf between what Miles knows and what the rest of us know.  Now, if someone came on here and said he was one of the student managers who is at practice every day and sits in on all the film sessions and said "Tai just doesn't get it, doesn't listen during practice, takes plays off and Miles just overlooks it while Biggs is busting his tail" then that would be a person in a position to second-guess the head coach about who is starting.

Otherwise, we're just amateurs going off of mere speculation.  And that's OK.  I'm not saying don't discuss it.  I'm just saying my answer would be that I would defer to the coach because I don't think I possess enough information to question his calls at this point.  Some do.  I don't.

I don't think it is that important a distinction concerning the starting five. It is who ends up playing with the game on the line that matters. We haven't really been getting blown out to start games off, so perhaps it is better to bring in Biggs whenever the offense needs some spark. Obviously both will play, and I do note that Biggs fouled out yesterday which may also be a consideration. And while I am on the subject of point guards, I don't quite understand all the disparaging of Benny I have seen on the board. There are situations in which he can make contributions to the team effort as well.

I'd like to see Biggs and Gallegos flip roles for one game.  Start Biggs, have the shooter come off the bench.  I'd take Biggs ability to drive over an inconsistent 3pt game from Gallegos.

I voted for Biggs starting over Webster, but it's a tough call.

YES! Let's start the game off with the lightning quick guy over the 3 point specialist. It seems like the early 3 ball is too hit or miss. Literally. You hit those first couple 3s and you've got a nice boost and a nice start. You miss them and you've dug a hole or are worse off than you could've been. I understand the concept of the 3 point guy you have to cover spreading the floor and opening up the lanes, but the potential advantage of starting Biggs is getting to the rim, drawing fouls, and potentially getting 2 quick ones on the opposition's key player. The kind of thing we've seen happen to Petteway in a few games already. Then bring in the 3 point guy off the bench maybe when the defense isn't so keyed in on being under Gallegos' chin all over the court.

After watching Petteway take long shots on break away layups and watching the ball always stop with Petteway and Biggs wanting to go one on one, it works sometimes, but I think it takes the team flow of ball movement away more. Biggs and Petteway seem to put their games ahead of the teams.

As a Coach I want players to play as a team together.

Pitchford

Leslie

Shields

Rivers

Parker

Cant go anywhere but up, so why not show who is in charge if your coach Miles. Nothing does more to change a players mindset than playing time.

I saw some nice drive n dishes in this last game. Taking your man off the dribble isn't always a selfish play.

I really could go either way on this poll. Tai is the point guard of the future, but Biggs might help in the short term.

I think Miles used his rotations just fine vs Purdue....going forward I think Biggs should be getting around 30 minutes each and every game.  He doesn't have to start...but we need him on the offensive end as much as possible if Shields continues to be a non-factor.

I think this thread is very very depressing.  Not because I think Biggs or Webster is better but because we don't know at this point in the season.

Point Guard was supposed to be a strength and right now Petteway occasionally has to bring the ball up the floor.  Just let that sink in.

I am not sure this team currently has any strengths.

I'm as doom and gloom guy as it gets but to say we don't have any strengths might be a little overreach to say the least.

Can these guys hold B1G 10 teams under 50 points?  If so I'm in.
