Back for a second year I guess, were going to start a B1G wbb "pick-em" contest among the posters here on HHC and see how it goes. The object is fairly simple, just pick the winner of each game listed below in bold green print, no score just the winner.

We'll keep a running total and see who picks the most winners at the end of conference play. Just make sure you get your picks in before tip time of the first game in each session. I've posted the up to date B1G standings as they sit at the end of the non-conference slate if you should need any reference to the teams records. Wisconsin though, ends it's non-conference season tonight against Wis/Green Bay.

TAKE NOTE: the first session of games run this Thursday and Friday and has 4 games, the second session will be up Thursday evening some time as it runs Saturday through Monday.

Any questions ask.

B1G Standings to date:

  1. Indiana 13-0
  2. Iowa 12-2
  3. Purdue 10-2
  4. Nebraska 10-2
  5. Minnesota 11-3
  6. Northwestern 10-3
  7. Penn State 9-3

I'll be the first to post my guess's

Thursday Jan 2

Purdue @ Ohio State 6:00 pm     I like Purdue in this. OSU just doesn't have much from the one game I seen them play

Iowa @ Indiana 6:00 pm               I'm going with Iowa. Indy just doesn't do it for me.

Northwestern @ Nebraska 8:00 pm            I gotta go with the HUSKERS Northwestern hasn't shown that they can handle pressure

Friday Jan 3.

Wisconsin @ Illinois 7:00 pm                 The Fighting Illini in this one I didn't like the comments Wisy's coach made at the big 10 media days.

Purdue

Iowa

Huskers

Illini

PURDUE over Ohio State.  Despite OSU having played a lot of games, they haven't seen the pressure of the Boilers yet.

IOWA over Indiana.  It reminds me of 2006 (?) when we took on an undefeated but untested Kansas in the Big 12 opener at home.

NEBRASKA over Northwestern.  Even though the 'Cats can score, they're going to struggle since the Big Red will crash the boards.  It will NOT be a blowout, though.

Friday Jan 3.

WISCONSIN over Illinois.  The refs call a tight game, which means that the Illini will get into foul trouble.

i just don't see any real surprises in these games. the only game i had to analyze a bit is wiscy-ill. wiscy had a little fortune in defeating green bay monday nite. approx a 35ft'er to send the game into overtime. green bay should have won that game. anyway, pick time:

purdue over osu

iowa over indy

neb over nw

ill over wisc
