hhcdave Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 Whatever happened to him after leaving? We know he was going back to Puerto Rico, but any idea what he did? Did he go back to school? Is he still playing ball? What is he doing? Does anyone within the program hear from him? I'm betting there are at least one or two people reading this who have an update - would love if someone could create an account and let us know any news on him. I've googled and even tried to get to euro basket sites but the malware/spyware is killing my computer and I'm not sure that he's playing anywhere. Very, very interesting, and probably bordering "sad" if he isn't still playing ball anywhere. Though if he's happy, that's all that matters. Dave Quote
Jadler Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 I can see him right now sitting in a rocking chair showing absolutely no emotion whatsoever. I still love him for those free throws against Indiana. Quote
Nighthawk Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 From what I've been able to locate he's playing basketball still for the Piratas de Quebradillas. At least he's still on their roster. Quote
HuskerCager Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 After the UAB game, there were a lot of people opining that Miles should have worked harder to keep Alihodzic. But - injuries and all - it still might have been a more fruitful effort if Miles could have convinced Jorge to return. All water under the bridge, now. Quote
jimmykc Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 He's probably studying to become a podiatrist. Quote
49r Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 Are you talking about that Oritz kid? Quote

hskr4life Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 I do not know if he was ever a team player... he never really wanted to be here anyways I do not think. Quote
hugh42 Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 I do not know if he was ever a team player... he never really wanted to be here anyways I do not think. It appeared that Diaz never seemed comfortable here and the fact that he left before completing his eligibility would lead one to believe that he wasn't 100% committed to being at NU. Regarding him being a team player or not, I don't know either, but I never saw anything from him that would indicate that he wasn't. Quote
tcp Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 I wish Jorge well. You never like to see a kid be unhappy playing for your team, especially if it was just something like not feeling at home at the school. A shame, too. He had such promise as a freshman. Quote

Huskerpapa Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 I will chime in, don't mistake his persona with not being a team player. BJD had some personal things going on, but when he was here, he did try and he did want to win and he was a good teammate. Perhaps individuals have more direct contact than me, but I do not think it is fair to put a past player down without knowing all the facts. Just saying... Quote

I just know that he had a personal event that occurred back in PR plus he had a very painful injury. Sorry if I hit a button. HB 1 Quote
