trickey Posted May 28, 2014 Author Report Posted May 28, 2014 Nice to see that Ed Morrow speaks highly of NU to the Minnesota newspaper... http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/260942131.html But he also speaks pretty highly of the Minnesota program as well. He also says facilities won't have that big of impact on his decision. This is a kid that I'm keeping my fingers crossed Miles can land but it won't be easy. On the bright side...he did not mention Bradley, Creighton, Iowa State, Iowa, UMass, Illinois-Chicago, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wyoming at all! Norm Peterson 1 Quote

MandRHusker Posted May 28, 2014 Report Posted May 28, 2014 Also: "It's possible I might still grow so who knows," said Morrow, who noted he has sprouted an inch and a half in the last month. (sic) An inch and a half in the past month? How tall is he now? Quote

Norm Peterson Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 Also: "It's possible I might still grow so who knows," said Morrow, who noted he has sprouted an inch and a half in the last month. Holy buckets. If he was 6'7" before, that's putting him into the 6'9" territory. The territory where some big kahuna said he needed to get to where they'd be interested. Oh, man, that almost sucks. Quote
lanigan123 Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 Well, at 6'9" he would likely be a top 50 player. Instead of 50-150. Quote
ajb5856 Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 But what if just his neck grew? The height the top of his head measures from the floor doesn't really matter as much then and things like wingspan are much more important. These guys all lie about their height. In reality, if he grew 1.5 inches, he is probably truly a solid 6'7" now, which will be rounded up and reported as 6'9". Quote

lanigan123 Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 His game translates to more of a 4 right now as does his frame. If it's a true 6 7 it's still good. Quote
Section_316 Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 If he's 6'10 he could be a one and done? Quote

Yes that's my point. Height is overplayed. Having some matters, but if you have some a teams not gonna pass up the incredible skill set for just another guy with an extra 2 inches. Cue the rehashing of all the jokes. Quote

So, it seems to matter to the big kahuna coaches if a kid is 6'7" or if he's 6'9". And, if it makes a difference to them, it doesn't really matter what I think or whether it's his wing span or whatnot. MichHusker 1 Quote

Let's just hope Ed sticks to what he said when he talked about not caring to chase big offers and that the schools truly interested in him have probably already been in contact and offered him. Quote
49r Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 We're going over 20 pages on this one too...easily. But a though occurred to me just now. Maybe it's not that going over 20 pages is the curse....maybe it's not getting over like 50 pages on a kid is what's the problem. We just need to post MORE in these recruiting threads!!! jayschool, Silverbacked1 and AuroranHusker 3 Quote

(sic) An inch and a half in the past month? How tall is he now? Judging from the good photo link huskercwg posted [which were from December with his parents (6'1" and 6'3")] his 6'7" estimate must be his NOW height...as he appeared to be at most 2" taller than his dad in December. It was great to see that part of the photos involved a forced family "study hall". They appear to be getting his priorities straight. Quote
lanigan123 Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 His size affects his ranking not his heart or his game. I'm all in on Morrow, but the only comparison I see b/c of height is Barkley. Any others? I'm not worried about big schools sweeping in. Quote
