If we lose him to Miami of Ohio it tells me he didn't think he could hack the Big 10.  That said, I am guessing the hometown teams wins out here.  He keeps adding visits which tells me he liked us, liked what he saw a lot but is looking for a reason not to come to Lincoln.

Or he wants to make sure the next school will be his final stop. The next school will be his third in three years. I'd want to take every visit I could to make the best decision possible. Can't fault the guy for making sure it's the best fit and that his next three years will be somewhere he feels he can do well on the court and in the classroom.

I'm not going to start reading too much negative stuff into his decision to take additional visits.  I'm not going to assume we don't get him until he commits elsewhere.  He hasn't trimmed his list.  He hasn't eliminated us.  He visited here after his coaches produced a "final" list of 5 schools that, IIRC, didn't have any of his last three visits on it.  Until he writes us off or commits somewhere else, I'm not going to assume anything.

Well, Silver, you just took us to 20.  So, you're doing your part.  High five.  :)

(I'd say "chest bump" but you'd probably knock me into next week.)  :o

Need to find a lady with breast augmentation to bump!  :D

After his visit here and after his old coach posted his supposed top 5, Tummala said that he wasn't going to do a final list or make any cuts or anything. He said he was just going to take visits and then make a decision. So I think you are spot on. We just need to wait for his decision. He has more visits available to him, so why not take them? If he takes them all and picks Nebraska, then great. If he picks another school, then he feels like he had a better opportunity elsewhere. Our program has a ton to offer right now. If he wants to be here and he likes Miles and feels like he has opportunity to excel in his offense, he will end up here.

It could very well be nothing more than this.  Norm I was not saying he has secretly eliminated us.  Just have seen enough kids over the years talk a place up and never pull the trigger as they say what folks want to hear while knowing it just didn't feel right.

Didn't Miles try to schedule a visit with Mikael Herbert a day or 2 after Sai visited? That should of been the biggest indicator that Miles was not real confident in landing Sai.

We'll see what happens but I don't think that's anything more reliable than reading tea leaves.  I'll just wait and see what Sai does.  Maybe he chooses us; maybe he doesn't.  Nothing I can do about it.  Just gonna wait and see what happens.

We should always have a backup plan even if that means doubling the number of European centers on the squad.

One thing that may be working against us is the fact that he is a 4.0 student.  Don't take that the wrong way...but he will likely graduate on time (meaning in four years or less).  He will then want to enter med school, or so it seems.  I believe ASU has a med school that is affliated with that campus.  That may not be accurate, it may be AU.  But if he does aspire to be a doctor, I would think he would want a school that can accomodate the timing of his undergraduate degree as well as his career aspirations.

I can't imagine anyone playing their final year of basketball while going through their first year of med school.  Don't think that'll be an issue.

wouldnt be possible. Youd have to do your rounds and they dont cater your schedules around basketball practices, games, and travel...lol

You know, there probably aren't a whole lot of recruits for which this matters, but keep in mind that (according to US News anyway - and we all know their methodology can be debated) Nebraska ranks 101st among National Universities while Arizona State is at 139th.

There aren't a whole lot of BCS-level schools that we can claim academic superiority to, but I would say that ASU has got to quite easily be one that we can do.

So we got THAT going for us...which is nice.

Yeah. I don't know what to think about this. I don't know that I'm going to read too much into his 2 new visits. He said before that he was going to take them (and that was when he seemed to be really high on Nebraska), so it's not necessarily a new development. The only thing that has changed is that he's visiting Miami of Ohio instead of Georgia (which is probably a good thing for Nebraska) and he is officially visiting ASU (which with ASU being the hometown school, it's not like he is going to see a lot that he hasn't already seen). If Tummala ends up choosing ASU, I don't really think it will be due to him taking this official visit. I imagine he is already very familiar with their campus and program. My fingers are crossed that he signs with Nebraska. Could be tough to take him out of ASU territory, but then again, it wouldn't be the first time that Miles managed to do something that I didn't necessarily expect him to be able to do.
