Bugeaters1 Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 There is plenty to say about this one. Shitty all the way around. At least the women beat Ioa tonight. Quote
HuskerFever Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 First three-game losing streak for Nebraska basketball since January 2023. Quite the stretch of quality basketball! Bugeaters1 and HuscurAdam 1 1 Quote
hskr4life Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 A loss on Sunday places us firmly in the bottom 5 of the conference... record wise. I don't know what kind of come to Jesus moment the team needs to have... but it better be quick. 2-4 in conference, blown out multiple times, losing a 20 game home win streak to a fellow bottom dweller, and blowing a 15 point road lead has this season turning sour quick. basketballjones Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 If a 10 is - this is my coach sign him up for as long as he wants. 1 being Mike Woodson…. I’ve gone from about an 8.5 to start the season to about a 6. This is wearing on me. Gimmick defense mixed with hot-potato “find someone to chuck it up eventually” offense is driving me insane. Cazzie22 Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 Rutgers is well coached and they have two NBA players. Harper made some plays at the end that we couldn’t match. It was a very physical game and the officials let it be that way. Quote
brfrad Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 That sucks! Not boxing out and missed fres throws in crunch time did us in. Quote

And this is combined with not getting loose balls or rebounding!!! Even if the offensive and defensive strategies suck, they could still play the hardest. But that isn’t happening either. We appreciate teams that work hard. But not only are they being exposed on both ends, they don’t seem to want to be a hard nosed team with an edge, even though that is their supposed identity. SMH. I sure hope they can turn things around. Quote
hskr4life Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 History has shown that we always follow up decent years with a dud. Year after we danced with Miles. Copeland/Palmer Jr senior year. Can this group change that stigma? Just so frustrated right now. Quote
nuhusker7 Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 We need to find more scoring within the offense, it seems like we were making basketball plays in the first half, and in the second half we were chucking fade aways. Juwan seemed like he knew he was about to get his career high and it got in his head. Connor just got bullied. He was just pushed around all night. Free throws sucked, but we have to know that’s what we get with Meah. It is a bunch of crap though when they foul him off the ball. PBA was decent numbers wise, but that environment sucked. Not sure if it was the Cancelled ladies night or what happened. 2 and 4 for Rutgers are ballers. At the end of the day the difference of the score came down to a blatantly horrible travel at the end of the first half. Quote
hskr4life Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 One last thing-- one thing we had going for us last year on our resume was no blemishes. As of now... that's a Q3 loss. Quote
cozrulz Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 Nebraska didn't make the late plays to win. Turning the ball over and missing free throws. Home game you should win but I'm not sure Rutgers is that bad. Of course now they will probably go on a big losing streak. Maryland seems to be playing as shaky as us. But the game is an early start and on the road. Quote
CanadianHusker Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 Can anyone go back to the last in bounds play? Was a moving screen set against Sam? (Not that I would expect these refs to make the right call!!!) roscoe 1 Quote

Maybe it's more that looking ahead is just a gauntlet. We started off the season in the best position in decades. And we hit our first three game losing streak in two years. And our first loss at home in 20 games. Sure, we've hit a patch, but we also started ahead. If we end strong, then it's not out of the realm of possibility we end up similar or better than last season. But the team needs to find it's groove. HuscurAdam 1 Quote

However, we have to get this figured out right now or we will be figuring out how many wins we need to make the Big 10 tournament. We need to get back to playing on the defensive end. Quote
CanadianHusker Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 Is it just me or does JG not seem like that dawg on D like he was last year? At least not consistently. Quote
nuhusker7 Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 Also is Sam alright? We bolted pretty quickly after the game but it looked like he was still on the ground and the medical staff was coming over to him. Quote

I can’t go back and replay the last part, but I wonder if it was a legal screen. Quote

Baffling how we consistently lose shooters. Plus most players can hit a wide open three. Defense allows too many threes and needs rethought. Thought the offense looked a bit better with movement tonight. REDZONEDAN 1 Quote

I had to turn on the recorded version and it appears it was not on the screen that was questionable at best, but instead after that where 4 was flailing around and hit him on the far opposite side of the court. Hope he’s alright. CanadianHusker 1 Quote

brfrad Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 Worster with a solid game. 10 points, 7 boards, and 5 assists. With 1 questionable turnover. Where Bailey reaches over the end line and takes the ball out of his hand. SkersHoops and CanadianHusker 2 Quote

Where is this defense that is scrambling everywhere and swarming and causing turnovers? And I thought the offense was better in the 2nd half for sure. The crowd didn’t seem too excited tonight either. I wonder how much that played into it. They need the students back. Silverbacked1 and HuscurAdam 2 Quote
