Markowski with 10 rebounds, 13 points, 3 blocks, and ZERO fouls.  Not sure I've ever seen AM with a zero foul stat line.  Hake with +22 is another statistic that seemed to stand out to me. Wasn't the prettiest win, but sure beats watching the West Coast games.

Nebraska should thank PSU for shooting so poorly in the 1st quarter, because the remainder of the game PSU shot 21 for 42. It was a "Jekyll and Hyde" ballgame as far as offense for NU, but they had just enough offense to finish off PSU.

I really like Britt Prince in that pick and pop scenario. If she's more aggressive today in certain spots, then that run by PSU wouldn't have tied it up. I'm just glad that the Huskers didn't blow it, because it was looking dicey there for a bit. Weidner steadied the ship with her late 4 points, which were much needed. Happy for her, she's a warrior.

It was a pretty good turnout despite the weather.   It was both alumni day and kids day.  So that certainly helped.    The baby race at halftime was classic.  I was surprised by the turnout...but think the number of patrons was closer to 3500.

As a team we are certainly not hitting on all cylinders.  I think we had 16 assists and 16 turnovers.

Game was sort of physical with a lot of pretty blatant fouls not called.  To be fair, that likely goes both ways.

But hey, a win versus a Big Ten team, so I shan't complain.  Besides, we were still licking our wounds from a very tough west coast swing against two top five teams.

Mike and Shelby Schaefer's son Hudson won the baby race (Mike is recruiting analyst for 247 sports).

The basketball.....yikes.

Not even close.

Not even close To a good turn out  that was a fantastic turnout considering the weather conditions. Nebraska fans continue to show they are the  best.  The attendance is the number of season tickets (4000 or so) p!us the  number of walk-ups to equal 5900   I would estimate 3500 butts in the seats. Way more than the guy who said not even a 1000 would show up

I had the good fortune of tuning in just prior to NU's stellar effort to wrench defeat from the jaws of victory by completely blowing the 17? point lead in 6 or 7 minutes.  I have no words for the level of play displayed during that segment.  From the comments, it sounds like the 1st half wasn't a whole lot better.

It's really hard to watch this team sometimes - still always with the lazy passes, ill-advised/wild shots and missed bunnies.  Thankfully, as someone else mentioned, Hake, Weidner & Prince buckled down just in time to avoid an embarrassing collapse.  It's going to be a tough row to hoe the rest of the way unless the level of play improves significantly.

That may have been me; but my excuse is that we were supposed to have an epic blizzard.  That did not happen.

I understand Huskerpapa. You made your prediction before and based on predictions, I did not know if anyone would show up. Still it was a good turnout considering.

Prince played 35+ yesterday. She does so many things well. The turnovers will come down. We need her to continue to step up. Hopefully they are telling her to call her own number more. She has a nice 15-18' shot. I little less three attempts and a little more mid range and going into the basket.

She lost out on numerous assists when relatively open looks were missed.  I hate when that happens!

To quote a famous movie, "You effed up.  You trusted them".

With Markowski missing three  3pointers yesterday she now has a 3-point percentage of 0.182 which is worst on the team!!  Needs to pass the ball instead of shooting 3's!!

What's sad is she could hit them at a good percentage as a freshman (50% on 42 attempts).  Shot 33% as a sophomore on 79 attempts, and 30% as a junior on 71 attempts.    It's puzzling that she had a good outside shot early in her career.  Are our players getting better while they're here?   Issues on the player development side in addition to recruiting?

Hake has shown very impressive improvement.  Petrie some and maybe Bozan is coming along.  After those, I can't think of any player development to brag on. The Kendalls give great efforts, but to my (admittedly untrained) eye they look as seniors a lot like they did as freshmen.

Maybe the threes will start to fall for AM40 during conference play.  I have to believe that if she weren't hitting them in practice she wouldn't have the green light to throw them up during the games. Double coverage is often cited for her decline in scoring, but that only happens down low in the lane.  It's a mystery.

We have to get some consistency from our wings in scoring.  Nissley is hit or miss.  Clearly we are not getting consistent production from the 4 spot. We are asking much from Prince and Markowski misses the help that Potts provided.

I am overall an Amy Williams fan, but I have to admit ... I am getting weary of hearing her and Matt say something like "well it wasn't a pretty win (or actually an ugly win), but a win is a win and we will take it".  They make it sound as tho each game is an exception whereas in reality it is getting to be the rule.  Even some of the 20+ win games against lesser opponents didn't cross over the midpoint of the ugly to beautiful continuum until late in the third quarter.  SoDak and Minny were the remarkable exceptions.  A lot of that was that the 3s were falling but also there were many fewer incidents of good passes either getting into and then fumbled off of receivers' hands or actually grasped and then a layup was missed.  There were cutters and penetrators instead of players just passing the ball around until somebody either threw up a three or got a turnover.

One of the oddities (I thought) yesterday was that Nissley, with everyone else missing,  took only two shots in 19 minutes.  She was playing with a wrap around her left wrist and thumb but that's her non shooting hand.

It's frustrating to see Prince making good to great passes to open teammates and then not getting credit for an assist bc the ball was fumbled or a layup was missed.
