Murray St. (6-3) vs. Nebraska (7-2) Game Thread

Ok, you guys can bitch about the game thread being started 8 days before the game. But Murray State plays two games before they play the Huskers. They are on ESPN+ right now playing Western Kentucky. Murray State isn't very big as a team. But they seem very athletic. The Everly brothers is video for this game. Hailing from Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Don and Phil Everly of The Everly Brothers forever changed the course of music history with their breathtaking harmonies.

Murray State coach Steve Prohm replaced Hoiberg at Iowa State after his first stint as Murray State’s head coach. He won a few conference titles with the Cyclones before things went horribly wrong. 
 

The Racers are frustratingly streaky this season..we’ll see which team shows up in Hawaii.

the '91 Husker team was a two point loss to Murray State away from a 17-0 start.  I don't think we've played them since, here's hoping for a little payback in Hawaii.

Anyone going to Hawaii?  I went the last time we played in the Diamond Head Classic.  We never really took a trip over Christmas so we decided to get some sun in December.  It rained most of time we were there. (expect for the afternoon when we arrived and of course the day we left)  Stayed in the same hotel as the team and talked to Coach Miles a little and it was kind of fun running into the players.  If you go, snorkeling at Hanauma Bay is a must.  Even if it rains!

We also went 10 years ago. The basketball was frustrating and games in the middle of the day twice hurt the tourism stuff, so I wouldn't necessarily do it again, but it was still the best vacation I've ever had.

 

I also had a selfie with Miles, an embarrassing interaction with Adam Sandler on the street and was made fun of on the TV broadcast Christmass day because the family wore elf pajamas to the game.

Elf pajamas for me, my wife, and 2 elementary aged kids. Pretty easy to spot in the sparse crowd on Christmas Day and we got our 45 seconds of time on ESPN2.

1988 at the Bob, I remember the Racers upsetting N.C. State in the first round.  A cog for the Jayhawks to advance out of Lincoln.  Vandy upsetting Pitt of “Send it in Jerome” Lane, Charles Smith and Miller also helped.

Don was born in Kentucky, Phil was born in Chicago and they grew up in Shenandoah, Iowa. This place is going to shit musically.  ;)
