Mast, Allick, and Rice about the only ones to come to play.  A very gettable game, we are going to blow.  Our shots are not falling, and they don't appear to have a chance.

Iowa goes to zone

we respond by taking Mast and KT out

then we don’t run any action but just pass around the perimeter until someone takes a rushed three

iowa is nebraskaing us

Couldn't agree more. With the zone I thought it would be good to have CJ and KT to be ready to shoot and Mast at the high post but what do I know.

hawks had, what, 6 days of rest coming in and we had our customary 2? I'm not going to get too bent about this one. A lot of temas would've run out of gas with this schedule, and if there's anything the conference has been with us as the newbie, it's dicks with scheduling. This stretch is brutal.

Our guys need some rest. Preferably before they play themselves out of a possible top half or middle finish.

A lot of teams face this type of schedule.  You have to fight through and find a way to win.  That is the difference between a champion and the also rans.

Hate the adjustment Hoiberg has made against the zone. Has our 5 (Mast) running high PnRs on the top defender—which can work if you have guards who are good drivers and dishers which we do not have.

The Hawkeyes are hitting their 3s. They haven't been doing that as much this season. And we don't finish well at the rim all of the time, and that's hurting us this half. It's tough to win on the road. They fought back to even it up but the boys look tired. I hope they can give it everything the last few minutes and not give up.

I am afraid this what we are, a team that will struggle on the road and with the home crowd be tough to beat at PBA.

💯 until proven otherwise

Absolutely shit shot selection from the very start of the game. JLaw and Gary took our first 5 3’s and you could argue the game was lost right there.

Fred got outcoached when Fran went to zone. FH had no answer and, as usual, is unwilling to coach shot selection and define roles.

Hoiberg got outcoached from the jump. We had no idea how to guard their heavy movement/screen offense. It’s like their was no scout or defensive game plan at all.
