It's worth pointing out that while Johnson is having a great season, point guard Markquis Nowell is the straw that stirs the drink for KSU. He's No. 13 in Torvik player of the year rankings:

He had a poor shooting game against us, but for the season he's 38% on 3s with 8 assists a game. Really fun to watch him.

Seriously, my initial reaction is that the basketball gods would NOT let us have anything nice.  If he would have come here, one of two things would have occurred.   Either his medical condition would have triggered or he would have suffered some other type of injury.

 

So goes the trend of Husker basketball.

I said in the other thread that he would've seemed to forget how to play the sport in general. So not far off

He would have shot at least 17 or 18 percent worse from 3 if he played here.

What if Trey & Bryce would’ve stayed too…? You might not have gotten Emmanuel, but Sam still would’ve come.

Probably not as high as if Gates or Tang were our coach meaning yeah we missed the boat on Johnson but our biggest blunder was probably not moving on from Fred and getting 1 of those coaches.
