Thanks for the effort, Scott, but I can't watch it.  The 90-91 season is still too painful....

I'm actually serious about this.  To this day, I can't watch any footage from the 1983 Husker football season.  Whenever that failed two point conversion starts to play on the TV, I turn my head.  I had too much inversted in Tom getting his first National Championship.

Same thing in 1991.  That was the year Nebraska was in the Sweet Sixteen for sure, and with a little bit of luck, the Final Four.   ...sigh....

The first cut is the deepest......

Yep.  We were going to play Duke in the Sweet 16.

Redzonedan,

I honestly don't know. I have a lot of games taped from 90-94 but I don't have them labeled consistently so some tapes I know the who but not the when, others just say NUBB. I will leep an eye out for it.

49r:We stayed in the same hotel with Duke in Minneapolis and were looking forward to seeing us play that never-to-be game. Our plans were dashed and we were stuck for the rest of the weekend there. We tried to switch our interest to Duke, but it just never worked. I did get  a new best friend since I rode the elevator with Billy McCaffery a few times and wished him (faux) good luck. And my daughter got to dance with the Blue Devil mascot at a pep rally. The only autograph I got on that visit turned out to be Alan Ogg, who played for some visiting pro team that also checked into the hotel before playing the Timberwolves. I should have tried for Coach K., but he scared me.

It's mostly 1990-94. I moved to Minnesota in 94. A lot fewer games were on television then, and most of those were regional rather than national. Difficult to remember how hard it was to get Nebraska basketball information/games before the internet really began to catch on.

HUSKER BOB!

Wow, this video...the memories are just flooding back.

Is this Husker Bob?

Yep, that's him.  He's the man responsible for the GOOOOO BIIIIIIIIIG REEEEEE EEEEDDDD chant.

He was at every single Husker athletic event.  Died at Memorial Stadium during a football game.  I want to say it was an Oklahoma game.

Colorado had a player on their team named "House Guest".

Seems like his parents were jerks so going to Colorado probably felt natural to him.

IIRC, his original first name was Rodell.   His nickname was House.   I want to say he officially changed his name to House while at CU ??

I was thinking the other day that the call and answer "Go Big Red" chant works poorly at basketball games due to their fast pace.

Simply chanting "Go Big Red" over and over again would work better.
