This is ridiculous and I am familiar with Clay Travis.  He stirs the pot for sure.  BUT...this isn't a race issue, it's about human decency and appropriate human interactions for ADULTS who should know better.

I fixed it for you.

Getting this thread back on track.  Got the chance to watch when the TO happened.  Even more leaning toward the side of Gard after seeing it.

There is absolutely no reason for Howard to be mad.  There was no reason to even go through the handshake line like that.  If he backs Michigan off, Wisco runs the clock out.  To expect one team to continue to play hard and compete and to expect a coach to continue to coach and put his players in the best position but not the other is ridiculous.

To see people defending Howard is disappointing.  To see people saying Gard was the instigator is disappointing.  I hate Wisconsin with a passion, but I’ll defend them in this situation.  The true instigating came with Howard’s “I’ll remember that” comments in the handshake line.  All Gard tried to do was stop and explain himself which I think is fair considering the way Howard was acting.

There have been countless times in sports where coaches are pissed and they “shake” hands but say nothing or it’s very brief.  Cold handshakes aren’t uncommon.  What transpired last night is not the norm with cold handshakes.

But that is exactly the problem (and really, he looked like he was "explaining himself" in an extremely agitated way, which is not exactly mature).  All Gard had to do was be the bigger person and let Juwan stomp off in his little hissy fit and it's over.  Greg Gard is not without blame in this deal IMO.  The saying "take the W" is definitely applicable here.

Great listen.   Also love how he points out that all the changes in easing transfer rules and other changes have made it so much more difficult to hold players accountable - and "coach" them to be better players and people the way good coaches can.

Rutgers coming up next and Juwan Howard's actions took his team's head coach and 14 points and 8 rebounds off the floor. Be a shame if they lost that Rutgers game at home and then have to face three ranked teams plus Michigan St in their final 4 games of Howard's suspension.

Terrance Williams should have gotten a bigger suspension than the other two players. After Juwan slaps Krabenhoft, a Wisconsin assistant coach tries to separate players (like coaches do) and Williams grabs him and body slams him and then continues to go after him pushing him to the ground. I've watched the video several times to try to follow where the guy goes and you can see him on the ground being shoved and/or kicked by Williams before the camera pans away and you don't see it anymore.

It appears to me the Wisconsin player, Neath, intervenes on his coach's behalf at that point and takes a swing at Williams, which then results in Diabate taking multiple swings back at Neath as well as Williams taking swings.

There was also another Michigan player that, when the Wisconsin assistant coach finally was able to get to his feet and head toward the Wisconsin side (away from the scrum) came up from behind the Wisconsin assistant and shoved him forcefully. If I was the Big Ten commish, I'd suspend that guy too. Players might take swings at each other, and that's bad enough. But you DO NOT lay hands on a coach. The league cannot tolerate that at all.

Nothing but the utmost love and respect for Izzo...man I am so jealous he's not the coach of my team.  Perfectly said coach.

Yeah, seems pretty silly to change things because Michigan employs notorious bad sports like Howard and Harbaugh

Can't say I know any of these coaches, but did this guy end up with any penalties?

That guy is a huge douchnozzle.  The player was way more mature than him.

Talk about optimism.

Juwan Howard's team just got beat by 14 points on the road, in which he got into a verbal confrontation with the Wisconsin head coach during the post-game handshake, which then escalated to him slap-punching one of their assistants resulting in a larger skirmish, and after things had settled down, when he and his team were exiting the court to taunting waves of goodbye by the Wisconsin team and staff and a chorus of boos from the crowd, and with thoughts of inevitable suspension going through his mind, this person has the confidence to ask him if he would autograph her jacket.

Not surprisingly he kept on walking, but nice try though.  😄
